Job summary

Teleport in India seeks a Legal Counsel II to support commercial, regulatory and governance work. You will handle day-to-day legal matters across India, work on special projects, and assist with IPO readiness in a fast-growing logistics tech environment.

The role requires a law degree, Bar admission, and 4–6 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in private practice. A dynamic, fast-moving team awaits you with opportunities to influence cross-border deals.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• End-to-End legal support for BAU operations in India and other jurisdictions as needed.
• Support the General Counsel on special projects and IPO readiness activities.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial and operational contracts using templates.
• Provide practical legal advice to business teams on regulatory, licensing and compliance matters.
• Support governance processes, board materials, related-party documentation and approvals.
• Help improve legal processes, templates and trackers; prepare updates and training materials.

Your Role: Key Accountabilities

• End-to-End Legal Support for BAU Operations (India) - Provide day-to-day legal support for business operations across India and other jurisdictions (if required). This includes drafting and reviewing standard commercial contracts, supporting operational and risk matters, and assisting with regulatory and compliance requirements to ensure business continuity.
• Special Projects and Supporting the General Counsel - Support the General Counsel on special projects, cross-functional initiatives and IPO readiness activities. Act as a reliable team member who drives execution and outcomes.
• Drafting, Review, Research and Negotiation of Agreements - Draft, review and support negotiations of a range of legal documentation, including commercial and operational contracts, using approved templates. Identify non-standard issues for escalation where appropriate.
• Legal Advisory and Stakeholder Support - Provide practical legal support to business teams on operational, regulatory, compliance, licensing, dispute and corporate matters. Work closely with internal stakeholders and external counsel to deliver timely, commercially aligned outcomes.
• Governance, Risk and Compliance Support - Support internal governance processes, including preparation and review of board materials, related-party transaction documentation, contract approval workflows and legal checklists. Track regulatory developments and support impact assessments and mitigation actions.
• Process Improvement and Knowledge Support - Support the implementation and continuous improvement of legal processes, including contract templates, CLM tools, SOPs and legal trackers. Help prepare legal updates, guidance notes and training materials to improve legal awareness across the organisation.

What We're Looking For

• Law degree from a recognised institution and called to the Bar (India, Malaysia, Singapore or any equivalent common law jurisdiction).
• 4-6 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years in private practice, preferably with exposure to logistics, M&A, corporate transactions, intellectual property and/or data privacy matters.
• Exposure to IPO preparation, fundraising, regulatory engagement or large-scale corporate projects is an advantage.
• Strong transactional and commercial legal experience, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating complex agreements in a cross-border or multi-jurisdictional setting.
• Proven ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment, with comfort in ambiguity and competing priorities.
• Self-starter with a strong ownership mindset, able to work independently, start projects and drive matters to completion with minimal supervision.
• Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility with senior leaders, business teams and external advisors across multiple geographies.
• Experience handling fast-moving, high-pressure issues, with sound judgment and the ability to respond pragmatically and decisively.
