Role Purpose and Key Accountabilities

The primary role of Lead UI Engineer at PAI would be to develop and design as well as define and ensure high performance and responsiveness of the front‑end platform. Successful candidates would be talented self‑starters, with a proven knowledge in UI implementation and design decision‑making grounded in User Experience best practices, who are eager to learn new things and will hit the ground running.

This role additionally provides the opportunity to apply cutting‑edge user interface design principles, develop implementation design for UI projects in a customer project context, troubleshoot and implement complex UI development issues.

You will work closely with the engineering team towards ensuring the deliverables and be responsive, flexible, and adapt to thrive in collaborative work environments. We are looking for a talented and experienced design leader with exceptional problem‑solving abilities, clear communication skills, and solid design instincts who can translate business needs into fantastic customer‑focused solutions.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and development of the UI components of the platform.
• Ensure web‑scale responsive design and implementation.
• Understand product vision and business needs to define appropriate User Experience.
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
• Experience working with Single Page Application frameworks like Angular, React, Node.
• Experience working with data visualization tools, such as D3.js, Tableau, etc.
• Experience building reusable component‑based UI frameworks like Google Material Design.
• Gather requirements and understand current UI standards, perform reverse engineering of front‑end code to evaluate current UI state.

Skills & Experience

• Significant experience with UI design for complex workflows.
• Technical expertise in design, development, coding, testing and debugging of software.
• Hands‑on experience in UI optimization best practice implementations.
• Working experience on HTML5, CSS3, Angular, jQuery, ReactJS, ES6.
• Engineered JavaScript with design patterns, advanced object‑oriented JS and extensive usage of data structures in UI such as JSON.
• Highly technical, hands‑on, motivated and collaborative individual capable of working in a fast‑paced environment.

Knowledge

• Good knowledge in HTML5/CSS3 standards.
• Working knowledge in UI Metadata Development (SASS or LESS).
• Strong experience in UI development (JSP, HTML, CSS, Ajax, and XML).
• Strong understanding of JavaScript/Object‑oriented JS.
• Significant experience in Angular/Node.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge in modern JavaScript development techniques.
• Understanding of UI componentization and modularization.
• Understanding of asynchronous request handling techniques.
• Understanding of REST and MVC.
• Understanding of usage of modern task automation and build tools like NPM, Bower, Grunt/Gulp/Webpack etc.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as SVN or GIT.
• Understanding of design patterns and SOLID OOP principles.
• UI debugging skills using browser developer tools.
• Strong knowledge of Ajax, Web Services, servlets, etc.
• Good awareness of the SDLC methodology (preferably agile).

• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in design or related field.
