D. E. Shaw India Private Limited is seeking an experienced software developer to join our Private Credit Tech group, based in Hyderabad and Gurugram.
You will design, build, and own full‑stack web application platforms spanning post‑trade analytics, underwriting, modeling, and deal‑sourcing workflows. The role requires 5 years of software development experience, strong Python, ReactJS/Redux, and SQL skills, plus a drive to learn the finance domain and mentor a small team.
The D. E. Shaw group is a global investment and technology development firm with more than $100 billion in investment capital as of June 1, 2026, and offices in North America, Europe, and Asia. Since our founding in 1988, our firm has earned an international reputation for successful investing based on innovation, careful risk management, and the quality and depth of our staff. We have a significant presence in the world’s capital markets, investing in a wide range of companies and financial instruments in both developed and developing economies. The Private Credit Tech group at D. E. Shaw & Co. is looking for an experienced software developer to join our Tech team based in Hyderabad and Gurugram. This team is an extension of the firm's Private Credit business, based in the New York and London offices. The Private Credit business involves providing loans to private companies to facilitate capital for business growth, expansion, or refinancing existing debt. The Private Credit Tech team plays a critical role by developing the tools used by the business team for their daily workflows, working closely with the analysts to build analytical and operational tools that streamline pre‑and post‑trade business functions.
In this role, you will collaborate directly with the product manager, the desk (based out of US and UK), and the Financial Research team based out of our India office to understand their workflows and requirements. You will design, build, and own full‑stack web application platforms spanning post‑trade analytics, underwriting and modeling, and deal‑sourcing workflows, driving projects from requirements gathering and architecture through implementation, testing, and deployment. A core part of the role is developing a deep understanding of the desk's point of view so you can propose sound technical solutions to real business problems, while balancing pragmatic, quick‑turnaround delivery with designs that endure as requirements evolve. You will take end‑to‑end ownership of the systems you build and hold a high bar for both quality and timeliness, championing clean coding practices, thoughtful design reviews, and robust, performance applications. You will actively use generative AI tools to accelerate your own productivity across prototyping, coding, testing, and troubleshooting, and look for opportunities to apply GAI to unlock new capabilities and streamline business workflows. You will also partner with other infrastructure teams to deliver solutions that scale and contribute to a strong engineering culture through knowledge sharing and mentorship — with the opportunity to grow into leading a small team by next year.
