Job summary

Vestas Technology & Operations in Chennai, India, seeks a senior quality leader to drive service quality deployments across the organization. You will lead initiatives to reduce CoPQ, manage NCRs, and ensure excellence in wind turbine manufacturing and service processes.

The role demands a mechanical/electrical/industrial engineering background with 10+ years in quality governance and Six Sigma certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in engineering in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Production, Industrial or Aerodynamics.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in quality governance, audits, continuous improvement, and customer issue management or similar.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification; Black Belt preferred.
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead technical and quality projects across functions, regions and cultures.
  • Strong stakeholder management across value chains.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical and quality problems using structured methodologies and quality tools.
  • Strong quality mindset with experience in risk assessment and preventive quality management using FMEA.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Drive LPF, LD and CoPQ reduction initiatives through data-driven quality improvements.
  • Lead deployment of quality strategies, standards and best practices across Service operations.
  • Monitor and improve quality KPIs including NCRs, customer issues, and product audits.
  • Contribute to improved business performance through data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support RCA and structured problem-solving to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring timely resolution of quality concerns and improving service delivery.
  • Collaborate with Service, R&D, Supply Chain and stakeholders to identify risks and implement mitigation plans to improve turbine reliability.
  • Facilitate quality awareness, coaching and knowledge-sharing to strengthen a culture of quality.

Vestas Technology & Operations > Quality > Service Quality Deployment & Readiness

Service Quality department is a function that supports Vestas Service organization on quality worldwide. Analyze and drive quality improvements to implementation together with Service stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Drive Lost Production Factor (LPF), Liquidated Damages (LD) and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) reduction initiatives through data-driven quality improvements.
  • Lead the deployment of quality strategies, standards, and best practices across Service operations to ensure consistent delivery excellence.
  • Monitor and improve key quality performance indicators, including NCRs, customer issues, and Product audits.
  • Contribute to improved business performance through data-driven decision making, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Support Root Cause Corrective Action (RCA) and structured problem-solving methodologies to prevent recurrence of quality issues
  • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring timely resolution of quality concerns and enhancing service delivery performance.
  • Collaborate with Service, R&D, Supply Chain, and stakeholders to identify risks, implement mitigation plans, and improve turbine reliability.
  • Facilitate quality awareness, coaching, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen a culture of quality and operational excellence
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's in engineering in any of the following disciplines or similar - Mechanical / Electrical / Manufacturing / Production / Industrial / Aerodynamics.
  • Possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant working experience in quality governance, audits, continuous improvement, and customer issue management or a similar role.
  • Six Sigma green belt certified and Six Sigma Black Belt (preferable)
  • Self-motivated, highly organized, and results-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead technical and quality projects across functions, regions, and cultures.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across the value chains.
  • Proven ability to solve complex technical and quality problems using structured methodologies and quality tools.
  • Strong quality mindset with experience in risk assessment and preventive quality management using FMEA.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong knowledge of wind turbine manufacturing, construction, commissioning, and service processes.
