The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and reliable AI-enabled services, guiding teams in responsible AI usage, and delivering end-to-end features with a strong emphasis on performance and cost optimization. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity based in Chennai, India.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system design, architecture, and building scalable services.
• Experience interviewing, mentoring, and forming high-performing engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures using Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Strong DB experience with SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Hands-on with cloud-native services, containers, and serverless deployments.
• Security best practices and vulnerability remediation ownership.
• Ability to own testing metrics: unit/integration/automation and performance.

Responsibilities

• Guide AI-driven engineering and establish responsible use of AI tools.
• Design and prototype AI-enabled workflows aligned with business goals.
• Balance deterministic logic with probabilistic AI systems and assess trade-offs.
• Evaluate cost, performance, and reliability when integrating AI services.
• Mentor engineers on practical, responsible AI usage and best practices.
• Own product features end-to-end—from design to production deployment.
• Ensure scalability, high availability, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to refine designs and drive implementation.
• Lead cloud-scale, event-driven architectures and real-time data pipelines.
• Build microservices and API-based inter-service communication.
• Improve security, cloud optimization, and production reliability.
• Deliver on project plans with speed and stability.
• Contribute to hiring, mentoring, and building a high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities:

AI-Driven Engineering & Technical Leadership:

• Guides the team in responsible and effective use of AI-assisted development tools.
• Designs and prototypes AI-assisted workflows or features aligned with business needs.
• Understands the trade-offs between deterministic logic and AI-driven (probabilistic) systems.
• Evaluates cost, performance, and reliability implications when integrating AI services into enterprise systems.
• Mentors junior engineers on practical and responsible AI usage.
• Own product/feature development end-to-end—from design to production deployment.
• Ensure features are scalable, highly available, and meet quality standards.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and architects to refine designs and drive implementation.
• Lead cloud-scale, event-driven systems using tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, and work with knowledge graphs (Neo4j).
• Build scalable microservices and design real-time data pipelines.
• Lead APIs-based inter-service communication using RESTful, GraphQL, WebSockets, etc.
• Ensure security, cloud optimization, and performance of applications by owning vulnerability fixes and cloud cost tuning.
• Execute project plans and delivery commitments with a balance of speed and stability.
• Contribute to hiring, mentoring, and nurturing technical talent; foster a high-performance engineering culture.
• Define test plans, author, automate, and execute test cases to meet quality gates.
• Take proactive ownership in production troubleshooting and system reliability improvements.
• Champion best practices in software engineering—security, maintainability, CI/CD, and performance.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 7 to 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in system design, architecture, and building scalable services.
• Demonstrated experience in interviewing, mentoring, and building high-performing engineering teams.
• Deep understanding of event-driven architectures with tools like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalents.
• Strong database experience across both SQL and NoSQL systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-native services, containerization, and serverless deployments.
• Implementation of security best practices and direct ownership of vulnerability remediation.
• Ownership over testing metrics, including unit test automation, integration testing, code coverage, and performance/NFR compliance.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, architects, and delivery teams; should act as a trusted technical advisor to business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven technical leadership in guiding engineering teams and fostering excellence.
• Familiarity with patterns of performance optimization, distributed systems, and fault-tolerance.
