Job summary

Epam Systems is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - .NET with AI to join our full-stack product team building features for a travel platform. You will use agentic coding tools to accelerate delivery, modernize architectures and protect member data.

You will collaborate with engineering, product and design teams to deliver scalable services and ensure security and performance across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software development.
• 7+ years of full-stack development experience building web applications and services.
• 1+ year hands-on experience using AI coding agents in professional workflows.
• Experience with RESTful API design and microservices patterns.
• Proficiency in two or more: TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, C#/.NET.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React/Next.js/Vue/Angular.
• Cloud deployment on AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding and toolchains.

We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer - .NET with AI to join our full-stack product development team building features and services for our travel platform. In this role, you will leverage agentic coding tools to accelerate delivery, modernize architectures and safeguard the privacy and security of our members' sensitive data while collaborating across engineering, product and design teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver features and services for our travel platform on a full-stack product development team
• Utilize agentic coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in daily development workflows to accelerate delivery and improve code quality
• Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security and performance before merging
• Contribute to refactoring and modernizing existing services and architectures using cloud-native design patterns
• Write clean, testable, peer-reviewed and well-optimized code, whether authored manually or collaboratively with AI agents
• Help improve development and operations of an increasingly distributed architecture
• Advocate for quality, durability and technical debt reduction by working with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, Product Designers and other key partners
• Safeguard the privacy, security and trust of our members' sensitive data throughout implementations, in partnership with Risk and Security teams
• Contribute to meeting backend and system SLOs as part of the broader engineering team

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
• 10+ years in software development
• 7+ years of full-stack development experience building web applications and services
• 1+ year of hands-on experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) in professional development workflows
• Background in building modern web applications, RESTful API design and microservices architecture and patterns
• Proficiency in two or more of the following: TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, C#/.NET
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue or Angular
• Expertise in building and deploying applications on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP)
• Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques for code generation and development workflows
• Understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how it enables AI agents to interact with external tools and data sources
• Knowledge of Azure AI Foundry, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and LangChain, along with graph-based data technologies (GraphRAG, GraphDB)
• Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker), CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools
• Excellent communication skills, strong working relationships and a high degree of team collaboration

Nice to have

• Familiarity with real-time streaming or distributed messaging platforms such as Redis, Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Experience with modern project management and collaboration tools (Jira, ADO, GitHub Projects or similar)
• Background in Agile software delivery (iterative planning and delivery)
• Strong curiosity about emerging AI development tools and a desire to stay current with the evolving agentic coding landscape
