Job summary

JPMorgan Chase, within the Chief Technology Office, seeks a Lead Software Engineer to drive the design, development, and evolution of a highly scalable CI/CD platform in a secure, resilient environment.

You will lead production-grade coding, code reviews, and debugging, while promoting enterprise AI–assisted engineering practices to improve quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes. The role requires deep SDLC and cloud-native expertise and a collaborative, innovation-driven mindset.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 8+ years applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Advanced in Java, Python, or Go programming languages.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with governance for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and evolution of a highly scalable CI/CD Platform.
• Develop secure and high-quality production code, and review and debug code.
• Drives team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test strategy acceleration, incident/root-cause analysis support), while establishing consistent validation standards (secure coding, peer review, automated testing) and promoting reuse of effective patterns across the team.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.
• Drive decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
• Actively contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle.
