Job summary

Pocket FM is seeking a Lead iOS Engineer to own the mobile platform, lead a team of engineers, and define the technical direction for the iOS app. You will collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to deliver polished experiences to millions of users.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of professional iOS engineering experience.
• Deep production SwiftUI expertise.
• Strong UIKit knowledge for legacy interoperability.
• Experience with MVVM, MVI, or similar patterns.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and networking.
• Proven track record leading or mentoring an iOS team.

Responsibilities

• Architect and own the iOS codebase with quality, scalability, and performance in mind.
• Lead end-to-end feature delivery from scoping to App Store release.
• Mentor and grow a team of iOS engineers through code reviews and guidance.
• Drive the mobile engineering roadmap and contribute to quarterly planning.
• Champion CI/CD, testing, crash monitoring, and performance profiling.
• Evaluate and adopt new technologies and AI-assisted tooling to boost velocity.

About the Role

We're looking for a Lead iOS Engineer to own our mobile platform, lead a team of engineers, and set the

technical direction for our iOS app. You'll work closely with product, design, and backend teams to ship

impactful, polished experiences to millions of users.

What You'll Do

• Architect and own the iOS codebase - setting standards for quality, scalability, and performance
• Lead end-to-end feature delivery from scoping to App Store release
• Mentor and grow a team of iOS engineers through code reviews and technical guidance
• Drive the mobile engineering roadmap and contribute to quarterly planning
• Champion best practices: CI/CD, testing, crash monitoring, and performance profiling
• Evaluate and introduce new technologies and AI-assisted tooling to boost team velocity

What We’re Looking For

• 6-10 years of professional iOS engineering experience
• Deep, production-proven SwiftUI expertise (this is a core requirement)
• Strong UIKit knowledge for legacy interoperability
• Solid experience with MVVM, MVI, or other structured architecture patterns
• Experience with RESTful APIs and networking best practices
• Proven track record of leading or mentoring an iOS team
• Proficiency with Xcode Instruments, debugging, and App Store release management

GenAI & Modern Tooling

We build with AI, not just around it. You should be:

• Comfortable using AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) day-to-day
• Able to prompt LLMs effectively for code generation, test writing, and documentation
• Capable of critically reviewing and refining AI-generated code for production quality
• Excited to keep up with the rapidly evolving GenAI tooling landscape

If you have hands-on experience with AVFoundation - video playback, DRM, FairPlay Streaming, or real-time media processing - you will stand out. We're building features in this space and would lovesomeone who's been there before.

Other nice-to-haves:

Core ML, watchOS, live streaming, or open-source Swift contributions.
