Job summary

Dow Jones in Mumbai is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive design, development, and implementation of robust software solutions on the Technology team. You will operate as a senior technical expert shaping our digital platforms and reporting to the VP of Engineering.

You will lead end-to-end architecture, collaborate with product, data, and engineering groups, and drive best practices for quality, performance, and reliability. A 5-8 year track record and cloud experience are required.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or full-stack development.
• Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Google Cloud).
• Experience managing complex engineering projects independently.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD deployment preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.

About the Role

As a Lead Software Engineer on the Technology team, you will drive the design, development, and implementation of robust software solutions. Operating as an individual contributor at broadband 5 within the Technology function, you will act as a senior technical expert shaping our digital platforms and tools, reporting directly to VP, Engineering.

You Will

• Lead the end-to-end architecture, development, testing, and deployment of highly scalable software applications.
• Collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional product, data, and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into innovative technical solutions.
• Drive engineering best practices, ensuring high code quality, system performance, and reliability across our platforms.

You Have

• 5-8 years of prior experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or full-stack development.
• Advanced proficiency in modern programming languages and cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud).
• Proven track record of independently managing complex engineering projects and delivering high-performance software.
