Qualifications

We're seeking a highly capable and driven Lead Software Engineer with a focus on Java and AWS Cloud technologies to become part of our dynamic team.

This position calls for someone combining practical technical skill, leadership capability, and business insight to deliver impactful software across our front-end applications, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assume ownership and responsibility for the team's technology solutions and deliverable outcomes
• Offer technical vision and guide the team toward well-informed decision-making
• Clear technology-related roadblocks that arise throughout the project's progression
• Work with architects and the CTO organization to uphold governance standards and best practices
• Tackle both functional and non-functional requirements while delivering high-quality solutions
• Help shape and improve system designs, architectures, and frameworks
• Supervise and safeguard the quality of data models, API contracts, architecture, frameworks, and code
• Contribute to effort estimation, planning activities, prioritization, and dependency mapping
• Provide leadership while encouraging collaboration across various teams and stakeholder groups
• Serve as a knowledgeable technologist with practical experience in AWS Cloud-native microservices architecture

Requirements

• More than 8 years of experience building front-end applications, microservices, and REST APIs
• Background working with Java, Node.js, and SpringBoot, including API and microservices development
• Strong command of AWS Cloud services, such as ECS, Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and CloudWatch
• Familiarity with database technologies like DynamoDB and Aurora
• Capability in Agile methodology and API testing tools
• Working knowledge of monitoring platforms such as Splunk
• Strong client-facing communication skills paired with solid presentation ability
• Careful attention to detail and comfort operating amid ambiguity while maintaining organized structure
• Experience leading teams and coordinating across groups such as Vanguard Database, the CTO organization, and API Economy initiatives
• Skilled at clarifying technical ambiguity and delivering well-defined solutions

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python programming
• Capability working with data pipelines in cloud-native settings
• Demonstrated experience building solutions that connect business insight with API economy principles
