Job summary

OpenText in Bengaluru is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to drive technical quality and architectural decisions across enterprise product development. You will own core coding, debugging, and integration tasks, collaborating with Product Owners and multiple teams to plan and deliver features in an Agile setting.

You will architect and implement scalable solutions using Java/JEE, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and modern frontend tech, while mentoring peers and ensuring secure, robust software

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of enterprise product development experience.
• Strong programming and debugging skills.
• Proficiency in Java/JEE, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Spring Boot, REST, JPA, Hibernate.
• Docker, Kubernetes, Helm experience.
• AngularJS and TypeScript knowledge.
• Familiarity with cloud deployments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Experience with microservices RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of performance and security in an enterprise context.
• Strong architecture, design skills and OO development.

Job Overview

As a Lead Software Engineer you will make decisions based on established practices. You will work under general guidance with progress reviewed on a regular basis. You will contribute as a team member and take responsibility for own work commitments and take part in project / functional problem-solving. You will also be involved in cross-team planning activities such as providing status updates and coordinating activities.

Responsibilities

• Produce high quality code according to design specifications.
• Utilize analytical skills to troubleshoot and fix complex code defects.
• Software design/coding for a functional requirement, ensure quality and adherence to company standards.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to plan and prioritize tasks for others to support the achievement of team objectives.
• Work across teams and functional roles to ensure interoperability among other products, including training and consultation.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders and escalates issues when necessary.
• Participate in the software development process from design to release in an Agile Development Framework.
• Excellent team and interpersonal skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of enterprise product development experience.
• Fundamentally good programming and debugging skills.
• Proficiency in Java/JEE, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Spring (Boot, REST, JPA), Hibernate, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AngularJS, Typescript, Any database.
• Some exposure to Cloud technologies usage and deployments would be good (AWS, GCP, Azure etc.)
• Experience in building and consuming webservices in microservices architecture (using RESTful APIs) would be good.
• Understanding of performance and security in enterprise context.
• A strong understanding of Application Architecture, High level and Low level design
• Responsive design and Agile methodologies.
• Good programming practices with solid object-oriented development experience.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
