Job summary

CFRA Research is seeking a Lead Software Developer to design and deliver CFRA's next generation of web applications using React, TypeScript, Python on AWS cloud infrastructure. You will lead a team, shape architecture, and work with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.

The role requires strong full‑stack experience, excellent communication, and a passion for continuous learning.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of full-stack enterprise web development experience.
• Proficient in frontend development using React/Typescript.
• Proficient in backend development using Python.
• Fluency in AWS infrastructure for delivering web applications (API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, CloudFront, S3).
• Proficient in SQL and MySQL.
• Experience with REST APIs and OOP backend.
• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code technologies.
• Experience with Git and CI environments.
• Experience with pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipline.
• Experience with frontend and backend unit testing.
• Familiar with SDLC and Agile.
• CFA designation with hands-on equity research is a plus.
• Excellent communication and time management.
• Ability to translate complex tech to non-technical audience.
• Bachelor's degree in CS/IS/Engineering.

Description

The Lead Software Developer will be responsible for team leadership and full-stack development of CFRA's next generation of web applications using a modern technology stack: React and Python on AWS cloud infrastructure. This is a rare opportunity to make a big impact on both the team and the organization by being part of the initial design and development of a new customer-facing application framework that will serve as the foundation for all future web development at CFRA.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality, high-performance, scalable applications using best practices and the latest generation of technologies
• Mentor and work with a skilled team while shaping the future of our products

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• A minimum of 6+ years of full stack development experience on enterprise web applications.
• Proficient in frontend development using React/Typescript
• Proficient in backend development using Python
• Fluency in the AWS infrastructure for delivering web applications: API Gateway, Lambda, Cognito, CloudFront, S3.
• Proficient in SQL and developing solutions using relational databases such as MySQL.
• Experience using object-oriented design principles and building backend applications with REST APIs
• Experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code technologies
• Experience with Git and continuous integration environments
• Experience with code pipelines such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or AWS CodePipline
• Experience with frontend and backend unit testing methodologies
• Proficient with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile
• CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation with hands-on experience in financial equity research is a strong plus, providing domain expertise in financial statement analysis, valuation, and investment research that translates directly into more informed design of CFRA's research and analytics platforms
• Excellent analytical and communication skills are essential, with strong verbal and writing proficiencies
• Great organizational and time-management skills, including an ability to estimate project completion times
• Ability to take complex technical concepts and communicate to non-technical audience
• Ability to juggle multiple projects, tasks, and deadlines
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering is required
