Job summary

Genpact is seeking a Lead SharePoint Developer to build and maintain custom solutions on O365 and on-premises SharePoint farms using the Microsoft stack (ASP.NET, Azure, C#). You will collaborate with developers, architects, project managers, UX specialists, designers, analysts, and client resources to deliver enterprise systems that enhance collaboration and productivity.

You will own detailed design and delivery for parts of the solution and mentor junior teammates.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience customizing SharePoint with JavaScript and C#.
• Two years of experience administering and monitoring SharePoint (O365 tenant admin).
• Expertise with Visual Studio and VSTS/TFS.
• Strong object-oriented development, architectural patterns, and best practices.
• Ability to collaborate with project team members and client stakeholders to scope projects and plan work.
• Experience with storyboarding, use cases, and creating functional requirements specifications.
• Experience with multi-tier architectures (UI, BLL, DAL) and SOA.
• Experience with ORM (Entity Framework and NHibernate) and LINQ.
• Packaging/deploying a SharePoint JS app using Visual Studio, gulp, webpack.
• Assisting with legacy on-prem solutions using WSPs, timer jobs, feature receivers, full-trust code.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with all levels of the organization.
• Willingness to travel to clients in Chicagoland area regularly and occasional travel to the United States.

Responsibilities

Job description

The Lead SharePoint Developer will be responsible for building and maintaining custom solutions on O365 and 2013 – 2016 on-premises farms using the Microsoft “stack” (ASP.NET, Azure, and C#). This individual collaborates extensively with other developers and architects, as well as experienced project managers, user experience specialists, visual designers, analysts, and client resources to build enterprise systems that improve collaboration, business productivity, and support business operations. The Senior Developer will also be expected to own the detailed design and delivery of certain aspects of the solution and mentor junior teammates. It is important that candidates have a strong background in building beautiful, scalable, maintainable, high-quality, and high-performing web applications.

Responsibilities

• Create rich web user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript/JavaScript (specifically jQuery and JavaScript frameworks such as React and Angular).
• Experience with web application development frameworks and tools likeReact, Redux, Express, Web pack etc.
• Create elegant and performant server-side functionality using ASP.NET Web Forms, ASP.NET MVC, CSOM (SharePoint C# Object Model), and the SharePoint server-side API.
• Oversee unit and system testing, focused on features.
• Create, facilitate, and monitorresults of acceptance testing procedures.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Have at least three years of experience customizing SharePoint platform with JavaScript and C#.
• Have at least two years of experience administering and monitoring SharePoint with central administration (and/or O365 tenant administration).
• Have expertise in efficiently operating within Visual Studio and VSTS/TFS.
• Have expertise in object-oriented development, architectural patterns, and software development best practices.
• Be able to collaborate with project team members and key client stakeholders to scope out projects.This includes facilitating work planningactivities and technical envisioning activities that result in the execution of actionable and manageable phases of software development projects.
• Be able to facilitate requirements gathering and analysis activities such as storyboarding, use cases, and creating functional requirements specifications.
• Strong experience working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer) along with some experience with service-oriented architectures (SOA).
• Experience with Object Relational Modeling (ORM) with different tools such as Entity Framework (and/or nHibernate) and LINQ.
• Have a deep understanding of how to package and deploy a SharePoint JavaScript application using Visual Studio, gulp, webpack, etc.
• Be able to assist with legacy on-premises solutions using WSPs, timer jobs, feature receivers, and full-trust code.
• Be a self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented, responsible team-player and exhibit exceptional relationship management skills.
• Operate within the dynamics of a team; exercise proper etiquette and citizenship during “team development” sprints.

Nice to Have

• Strong experience working with layered architectures (N-Layer, Onion/Hex, DDD, CQRS) and an appreciation for appropriate layering and application structure.
• Hands-on experience building scalable web applications, in particular high frequency and low latency web applications with optimal memory management, performance, and scalability as a key focus.
• Experience with Styling and Responsive Design techniques using technologies such as LESS, HTML5, Bootstrap, and SASS.
• Experience with native mobile application development on any platform.
• Experience with cloud ecosystems including Azure or AWS.
• Have prior consulting experience.
