The candidate will lead architecture strategy, build multi-cloud data pipelines with Delta Lake and Spark, and mentor engineers while engaging with C-suite stakeholders.

About the Opportunity

A high-growth global Data & AI consulting consultancy expanding rapidly across APAC, Europe, and the Americas is seeking an experienced Data Architect / Senior Data Architect.

In this role, you will serve as a strategic technical advisor and hands-on solutions architect, designing and delivering modern Lakehouse platforms for enterprise clients across diverse industries. You will lead technical transformations, solve complex distributed data challenges, and help shape the firm’s growing architecture practice.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Strategy

• Architect and lead enterprise-scale Data & AI platforms built on the Databricks Lakehouse framework.
• Design robust, scalable, and secure cloud data solutions across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
• Establish end-to-end data architectures aligned with business goals, regulatory compliance, and operational scale.
• Define architecture standards, data governance policies, security frameworks, and modernization roadmaps.

Enterprise Delivery & Production Engineering

• Own end-to-end technical delivery of multi-cloud Databricks deployments from discovery through production rollout.
• Build high-throughput ETL/ELT pipelines and processing frameworks using Delta Lake and Apache Spark.
• Resolve production challenges around distributed processing, query execution plans, and runtime performance.
• Drive platform optimization, performance tuning, and compute/storage cost efficiencies.

Modern Data Platform & MLOps

• Collaborate with platform engineers to implement CI/CD automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices.
• Support enterprise MLOps readiness and the operational integration of modern AI workflows.
• Develop reusable architectural assets, accelerators, and foundational engineering standards.

Client Advisory & Leadership

• Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture review boards, and executive-level presentations.
• Translate ambiguous client business problems into actionable, production-grade technical blueprints.
• Act as a trusted technical advisor to client leadership and senior engineering counterparts.
• Mentor data engineers and contribute actively to internal capability-building initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Required Experience

• Overall Experience: 10+ years within technology consulting or enterprise software delivery.
• Core Specialization: 7+ years dedicated to Data Engineering, Cloud Data Platforms, or Analytics Architecture.
• Databricks Track Record: Demonstrated delivery of 6–8 enterprise-scale Databricks implementations deployed to production.
• Architecture Depth: Proven hands-on expertise in Spark internals, Delta Lake mechanics, and distributed data systems.
• Consulting Delivery: Strong client-facing consulting experience with global enterprise accounts.

Education & Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• Databricks Certified Data Engineer Professional (or equivalent Databricks Solutions Architect credentials) preferred.
• Professional certifications in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform are strongly preferred.

Core Competencies

• Executive presence with the ability to communicate architectural tradeoffs to both technical teams and C-suite stakeholders.
• Structured problem-solving mindset suited for high-impact advisory environments.
• Strong facilitation skills for architecture workshops and technical roadmapping.
