Job summary

The Convergence Foundation in Delhi is seeking a strategic Lead to shape and scale its Economic Growth portfolio, working with senior leaders to identify high-impact initiatives across exports, ease of doing business, regulatory reform, and MSMEs, leading TCF's content and strategy work through deep research, building TCF's point of view on priority issues, and translating this into investable opportunities.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in management consulting, public policy, governance, economic development, or a related field.
• Proven ability to operate in senior, external-facing roles, including engaging with government, industry, and philanthropic leaders.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical ability, comfortable working across multiple domains and quickly mastering new subject areas.
• Highly collaborative, comfortable working closely with senior leaders while independently owning workstreams.
• Flexible and adaptable, thriving in fast-changing, ambiguous contexts.

Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop new areas of work in the economic growth portfolio in collaboration with senior leadership
• Synthesize insights and provide first-level analytical depth on emerging topics that inform TCF's strategy
• Engage with senior external stakeholders government officials, industry bodies, investors, and civil society leaders to understand binding constraints and government priorities
• Translate strategic ideas into executable programs while working with subject matter experts, grantees, and implementation partners
• Represent TCF externally in meetings and public forums, particularly senior engagements where leadership presence isn't possible
• Support partner organisations tracking milestones against TCF funding, resolving bottlenecks, and ensuring high delivery standards

The Convergence Foundation (TCF) is an Indian philanthropic foundation established by Ashish and Manisha Dhawan in April 2021, building on their legacy of impactful philanthropy, including the founding of transformative institutions like Ashoka University and the Central Square Foundation. TCF's mission is to transform the lives of all Indians through rapid, sustained economic growth and inclusive development, focusing on three pillars: direct engines of economic growth that enable job creation, human capital development through education and employability, and development enablers that strengthen the philanthropic ecosystem and improve state capacity.

Role

TCF is seeking a strategic lead to help shape and scale its Economic Growth portfolio, one of its core focus areas. Working closely with a senior business leader, this role will explore and build out high-impact initiatives across multiple verticals, such as exports, ease of doing business, regulatory reform, and MSMEs, leading TCF's content and strategy work through deep research, building TCF's point of view on priority issues, and translating this into investable opportunities. Over time, the role will take increasing ownership of the economic growth portfolio, setting priorities and refining TCF's long-term thesis on economic growth in India.
