Job summary

WTF in Noida is seeking a Lead Product Engineer who writes production code daily, makes architecture decisions, and helps a young team ship at founder-level speed.

You will own end-to-end systems, including APIs, databases, frontend/mobile experiences, cloud infra and AI-native capabilities, with a focus on reliability, security and measurable outcomes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software/product engineering experience.
• Production code written personally and recently—not only team management.
• At least one product personally taken from zero to production.
• Evidence of scaling a real system: users, transactions, data, integrations, reliability or engineering throughput.
• Strong Node.js/TypeScript, React and PostgreSQL expertise.
• Practical Flutter and/or Azure experience, with the ability to become effective quickly across the complete stack.
• Deep understanding of system design, database performance, concurrency, APIs, authentication, security, CI/CD and production operations.
• Experience guiding engineers while remaining a substantial individual contributor.
• Willingness to work full-time, on-site in Noida.

Responsibilities

• Architect, build and deploy production systems across Node.js/TypeScript, React, Flutter and PostgreSQL.
• Turn ambiguous business problems into working products without waiting for detailed specifications.
• Own APIs, application logic, databases, frontend/mobile experiences, cloud infrastructure and production reliability end-to-end.
• Build AI-native capabilities using LLM APIs, agents, tool calling, retrieval, evaluations, model routing, observability and cost controls.
• Make pragmatic architecture decisions that support speed today and scale tomorrow.
• Establish strong code-review, testing, CI/CD, monitoring, security and incident-response practices.
• Debug production failures personally and permanently remove their root causes.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, design reviews and clear technical standards while continuing to code.
• Reduce dependency on the founder by converting architectural knowledge into repeatable engineering systems.

WTF is building an AI-native enterprise technology ecosystem across 11 business verticals. We move from business problem to production product in days, not quarters. Our stack spans Flutter, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS and Azure, with AI embedded into how products are designed, built, operated and improved.

THE MISSION

We are hiring a Lead Product Engineer who leads through code.

This is not a ceremonial leadership role, a coordination role or a management-only position. You will work closely with founder Vishal Nigam, write production code every day, make architecture decisions, solve hard frontend/backend/data/cloud problems and help a young engineering team ship independently at founder-level speed.

You will be accountable for taking real products from an unclear business requirement to a secure, observable production release.

WHAT YOU WILL OWN

• Architect, build and deploy production systems across Node.js/TypeScript, React, Flutter and PostgreSQL.
• Turn ambiguous business problems into working products without waiting for detailed specifications.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

First 30 days:

• Understand the existing architecture and production landscape.
• Identify the highest-risk technical and delivery bottlenecks.

Within 60 days:

• Independently own and release a complete product slice.
• Improve deployment reliability, observability and engineering throughput.
• Set clear technical ownership across the team.

Within 90 days:

• Lead a repeatable idea-to-production delivery rhythm.
• Enable engineers to make sound decisions without constant founder intervention.
• Demonstrate measurable improvements in release speed, reliability and product quality.

NON-NEGOTIABLE EVIDENCE

THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR YOU IF

• You primarily manage status meetings, vendors or delivery reports.
• You have stopped writing production code.
• Your implementation was always completed by a separate architecture, DevOps or development team.
• You need a large team and perfect specifications before you can ship.
• Your AI experience is limited to using ChatGPT or adding an API call to a demo.
