Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer (Azure/SRE) to design, build, and operate a hybrid Azure platform. You will drive enterprise-scale Landing Zones, integrate CAF guidelines, and lead CI/CD pipelines across teams.

You will collaborate with architects and developers, own incident response readiness, and mentor engineers while aligning to governance and security standards. 3 days in office, 2 days remote as part of a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• 5+ years designing, developing, and implementing cloud and hybrid Azure Platform solutions.
• Deep knowledge of Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones and Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud native components.
• 5 years demonstrable experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency in IaC using Terraform, Azure DevOps, and GitLab.
• Strong communication with internal customers, team members, and management.

Responsibilities

• Engineer and optimize hybrid Azure Platform solutions focusing on compute, network, storage, monitoring, and security.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects on implementing an Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zone platform.
• Provide IT operations expertise in networking, virtualization, identity, security, and governance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in Azure administration and DevOps.
• Participate in project activities to meet operational needs.
• Ensure knowledge articles for supported systems are updated.

Job description

Role Profile

In this role, you'll be joining our Azure Engineering team within Cloud Productivity & Engineering (CPE) as a Lead Platform Engineer with a focus on Site Reliability Engineering (SRE). This team focuses on building, developing, and supporting our Azure cloud platform to accelerate the time-to-market of innovative finance products. In collaboration with Microsoft, we aim to transform how LSEG leverages the cloud platform. Engage in designing, developing, and building complex cloud services and capabilities. Work alongside architects, developers, and other engineers to ensure efficient Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zone platforms. Active involvement in decision making areas such as networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery and governance.

3 days a week in office. 2 days remote. On‑call, incident response out of hours.

Tech Profile/Essential Skills

• 5 years experience in designing, developing, and implementing cloud and hybrid Azure Platform solutions.
• Can demonstrate deep knowledge in setting up Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zones and hands on experience with Microsoft's Cloud Adoption Framework.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud native components.
• 5 years demonstrable experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in agile methodologies and CI/CD principles and practices.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaS) using tools like Terraform, Azure DevOps, and Gitlab.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers, team members, and management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• 8 years hands on experience with Windows/Linux Servers.
• Proactive incident management with Azure-based troubleshooting.
• Sound understanding of financial markets.
• Adept at collaborating in diverse teams, with excellent communication skills.
• Previous roles involving Azure administration, Azure development, and/or DevOps processes.
• Education and Professional Skills.
• Relevant Professional qualifications.
• BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related STEM degree.

Detailed Responsibilities
