Scrubsy is building a Consumer & Market Insights function centered on the consumer across launches—from formulations to campaigns. The lead will own this agenda end-to-end, design studies, manage agencies, and translate raw data into decisions for leadership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in consumer/market research or insights, FMCG/home care/hygiene
• D2C industry experience preferred
• Strong qualitative and quantitative methodologies with good judgement
• Vendor management end-to-end including budget and timeline ownership
• Excellent stakeholder communication and data storytelling
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA/PG preferred

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end consumer & market research agenda across briefing, fieldwork and final recommendations
• Lead qualitative and quantitative studies (U&A, segmentation, concept testing, ethnography, brand health)
• Select, brief and manage external agencies and field partners
• Translate consumer insights into actionable inputs for NPD and go-to-market strategies
• Partner with Marketing, R&D, and founders’ office to turn questions into sharp briefs and findings
• Present insights and recommendations to top management
• Build AI-enabled insight capabilities (social listening, dashboards) as the function scales

Brief

Scrubsy is building out a dedicated Consumer & Market Insights function to put the consumer at the centre of everything we launch — from formulations to fragrance to packaging to campaigns. We're looking for a Lead/Manager/Senior Manager - Consumer & Market Insights who will own this agenda end-to-end: designing the right studies, managing agency partners, and turning raw consumer data into decisions our leadership team acts on. This is a rare opportunity to build an insights function from the ground up inside a fast-moving, founder-led company.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end consumer & market research agenda for Scrubsy — from briefing through fieldwork to final recommendation.
• Lead both qualitative and quantitative research: Usage & Attitude (U&A) studies, need-based segmentation, concept and product testing (CLT/HUT), ethnography and in-depth interviews, brand health and brand tracking, packaging and claims research.
• Select, brief and manage external research agencies and field partners, owning proposal evaluation, quality control and on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Translate consumer understanding into clear, actionable inputs for New Product Development (NPD) and Existing Product Development (EPD), renovation, go-to-market strategy and brand positioning.
• Partner closely with Marketing, R&D/Formulation, and the founders' office to turn business questions into sharp research briefs, and research findings into decisions.
• Present insights and recommendations directly to the top management.
• Build and champion tech- and AI-enabled insight capabilities — social listening, review mining, trend-spotting dashboards — to keep the consumer pulse continuous rather than episodic.
• As the function scales, mentor and build out a small team of researchers/associates.

What We Are Looking For

Mandatory Requirement

• 5+ years of experience in consumer/market research or consumer insights, ideally in FMCG, home care, personal care or hygiene categories.
• Prior experience in D2C industry.
• Strong hands-on grounding in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with the judgement to pick the right approach for the business question.
• Proven experience managing research vendors/agencies end-to-end, including budget and timeline ownership.
• Excellent stakeholder communication and data storytelling — comfortable presenting to founders and cross-functional teams.
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent PG qualification in Marketing/Management preferred.

Additional Requirement

• Exposure to AI-driven insight tools, social listening platforms, or e-commerce/quick-commerce analytics
• Experience supporting NPD launches from exploratory research through to post-launch evaluation.
• Familiarity with syndicated data and brand tracking platforms.
