Job summary

Maersk is seeking a Lead Logistics Operations professional in Chennai to monitor and resolve system and workflow issues across supply chain platforms. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive process improvements, ensure SLA compliance, and support automation initiatives.

The role requires a strong foundation in ERP systems, logistics processes, and data analysis to reduce errors and boost efficiency across global operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Lead Logistics, Customer Delivery, Shared Services, or Operational Error Management.
  • Hands‑on experience with ERP and Supply Chain platforms such as SAP, FACT, SCP, MODS, Athena, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of Lead Logistics processes, Sales Order/Purchase Order lifecycles, workflow management, and exception handling.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring operational exceptions and workflow queues to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Investigating and resolving IDOC, Auto PO, Sales Order, Purchase Order, Supplier Invoice issues within SLAs.
  • Root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions to minimize errors.
  • Collaborating with Business, Technology, Product, Customer Experience teams to drive improvements.
  • Ensuring adherence to SOPs, internal controls, and governance standards.
  • Managing queues while meeting productivity, SLAs, and quality targets.
  • Supporting testing, deployment, and transitions for system enhancements and migrations.
  • Identifying automation and standardization opportunities to boost efficiency.
  • Providing guidance and knowledge sharing to support team capabilities.
  • Preparing operation reports and dashboards on error trends and risks.

Purpose of the Role

The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of Lead Logistics operations by monitoring and resolving operational exceptions, system-generated errors, and workflow issues across supply chain platforms. The role partners with cross‑functional stakeholders to drive operational excellence, improve process efficiency, maintain compliance with service level agreements (SLAs), and support continuous improvement through automation and standardization initiatives.

You will be Responsible for:
  • Monitoring operational exceptions, system-generated errors, and workflow queues across Lead Logistics platforms to ensure uninterrupted business operations.
  • Investigating and resolving IDOC, Auto Purchase Order (Auto PO), Sales Order, Purchase Order, Supplier Invoice, and workflow‑related issues within defined service levels.
  • Performing root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing corrective and preventive actions to minimize recurring operational and system errors.
  • Collaborating with Business, Technology, Product, Customer Experience, and other cross‑functional teams to resolve operational issues and drive process improvements.
  • Ensuring adherence to operational standard operating procedures (SOPs), internal controls, customer‑specific requirements, and governance standards.
  • Managing assigned operational queues while maintaining productivity targets, service level agreements (SLAs), and quality standards.
  • Supporting testing, deployment, stabilization, and transition activities for new system enhancements, business transformations, customer onboarding, and country migrations.
  • Identifying automation, standardization, and process optimization opportunities to improve operational efficiency, quality, and customer experience.
  • Providing operational guidance, knowledge sharing, and subject matter expertise to support team capability and consistent process execution.
  • Preparing operational reports, dashboards, and analytical insights on error trends, operational risks, performance metrics, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Driving compliance with quality, audit, risk, and governance requirements while ensuring accurate documentation and process adherence.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 2–5 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Lead Logistics, Customer Delivery, Shared Services, or Operational Error Management.
  • Hands‑on experience working with ERP and Supply Chain platforms such as SAP, FACT, SCP, MODS, Athena, or similar enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain Management, Lead Logistics processes, Sales Order and Purchase Order lifecycles, workflow management, and exception handling.
  • Working knowledge of IDOC processing, integration error management, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, reporting, and data analysis, with the ability to derive actionable business insights.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple activities in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Business, Technology, Product, and Customer Experience teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high‑quality results while meeting SLA targets, maintaining process accuracy, and driving operational excellence through automation and standardization initiatives.
