Job summary

Suzlon Group is seeking a Lead Legal Counsel (OMS) to lead contract management and negotiations across O&M and related commercial agreements. You will provide strategic legal guidance to internal teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and help mitigate disputes.

The role emphasizes proactive risk management and practical legal solutions tailored to business needs. The position requires strong drafting, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including O&M, Vendor/Service, NDAs, MoUs, and Term Sheets.
• Ensure contracts align with business objectives, obligations, risk mitigation, and legal compliance.
• Maintain and update contract templates, standard clauses, and playbooks.

Lead Legal Counsel (OMS)

Contract Management & Negotiation

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including:
• Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Agreements
• Vendor and Service Agreements
• Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
• Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs)
• Term Sheets
• Ensure contracts align with business objectives, associated contractual obligations, risk mitigation strategies, and legal compliance requirements.
• Maintain and update contract templates, standard clauses, and playbooks in line with evolving business and legal requirements.

Legal Advisory & Risk Mitigation

• Provide strategic legal advice and support to internal stakeholders on operational, commercial, and day-to-day business matters.
• Advise on regulatory and statutory compliance requirements relevant to contracts and business operations.
• Identify legal risks and recommend practical solutions to mitigate exposure.

Dispute Resolution & Litigation Support

• Manage pre-litigation strategies and coordinate with external legal counsel on ongoing and anticipated disputes.
• Draft and review legal notices, responses, pleadings, and other court-related documentation.
• Lead negotiations with internal and external stakeholders to resolve disputes and minimize litigation risks.
• Monitor litigation matters and ensure timely actions, filings, and follow-ups.
