Job summary

Adani seeks a BE/B.Tech Mechanical or Electrical engineer to lead maintenance management in heavy industry with a coal handling focus. You will track MTBF, MTR, and OEE, perform ACSU operations, and drive RCA, FMEA and JSA analyses to proactively mitigate hazards.

You will also manage spare parts inventory, budgets, environmental and safety compliance, and pursue digitization and automation initiatives. This on-site role requires 4+ years in maintenance management within power generation,

Qualifications

  • BE/B.tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.
  • 4+ years of experience in maintenance management within heavy industry, preferably in coal handling or power plants.
  • Experience in the power generation, mining, or heavy industrial sector with a focus on coal handling systems.

Responsibilities

  • Track and reduce MTBF and MTR, and increase OEE to maintain equipment availability.
  • Calibrate and perform vibration analysis to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Operate and maintain the Auto Coal Sampler Unit (ACSU) for accurate sampling.
  • Generate work orders for painting, structural strengthening, and corrosion mitigation to maintain plant integrity.
  • Provide RCA, FMEA, and JSA inputs to proactively identify hazards and mitigate risks.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, focusing on vital, essential, and desirable equipment to ensure readiness.
  • Reduce Non-Moving Inventory (NMI) and maintain stores inventory to support operations.
  • Provide inputs for budgetary requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety.

Job description

Track and reduce Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time to Repair (MTR), and increase overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) to maintain high equipment availability.

Perform calibration and vibration analysis activities to ensure equipment reliability.

Perform the operation and maintenance of the Auto Coal Sampler Unit (ACSU) to guarantee accurate sampling.

Execute work order generation for painting, structural strengthening, and corrosion mitigation to maintain plant integrity.

Provide necessary details for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) risk analysis and job safety analysis (JSA) to proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards.

Inventory and Spare Parts Management:

Manage spare parts inventory, focusing on vital, essential, and desirable equipment to ensure operational readiness.

Reduce Non-Moving Inventory (NMI) to optimize stock levels.

Perform the maintenance of the stores inventory to support uninterrupted operations.

Budget Management:

Provide inputs for budgetary requirements to ensure cost-effective operations.

Identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising on safety or operational efficiency.

Business Sustainability:

Implement and follow IMS, AWMS, DISHA, CHETNA, Six Sigma, ABEM and LAKSHYA guidelines within the department.

Ensure adherence to preventive maintenance (PM) compliances for all equipment to minimize downtime as well as P1 (breakdown) defect compliance and ensure timely rectification.

Manage departmental compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards to uphold corporate and regulatory requirements.

Digitization and Automation:

Execute comprehensive digitization strategies to optimize operational efficiency.

Implement automation solutions to support overall organizational goals/strategy.

Implement process and system improvements, adopting newer technologies and innovative ideas.

Qualifications

Educational Qualification:

BE/B.tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required.

Work Experience (Range of years):

4+ years of experience in maintenance management within heavy industry, preferably in coal handling or power plants.

Preferred Industry:

Experience in the power generation, mining, or heavy industrial sector with a focus on coal handling systems.
