Lead I - Software Engineering - Java Spring Rest API

Role Description: Role Proficiency: Act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options optimizing application development maintenance and performance by employing design patterns and reusing proven solutions. Account for others\' developmental activities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications.
• Code, debug, test, document, and communicate product/component/feature development stages.
• Validate results with user representatives; integrate and commission the overall solution.
• Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing, improving, or reconfiguration of existing components or creating new solutions.
• Optimise efficiency, cost, and quality.
• Influence and improve customer satisfaction.
• Set FAST goals for self/team; provide feedback to FAST goals of team members.

Outcomes & Measures

• Adherence to engineering process and coding standards.
• Adherence to project schedule and timelines.
• Number of technical issues uncovered during the project.

Outputs & Documentation

Configure, Test & Release

• Define and govern configuration management plan; ensure team compliance.
• Review and create unit test cases/scenarios and execution; review test plan with Testing team; provide clarifications as needed.
• Execute and monitor the release process.

Domain Relevance & Knowledge

• Advise Software Developers on design and development of features with deep understanding of the business problem; learn about the customer domain and identify opportunities to add value; complete relevant domain certifications.
• Consume and contribute to project-related documents, SharePoint libraries, and client universities; review reusable documents created by the team.

Project & Team Management

• Manage delivery of modules and user stories; set FAST goals and provide feedback; understand team aspirations and provide guidance and opportunities; ensure team engagement.
• Manage defects: perform defect RCA and mitigation; identify defect trends and take proactive quality-improvement measures.
• Estimate effort for projects; provide input for planning; manage knowledge and documentation.

Design & Customer Interaction

• Contribute to design (HLD/LLD/SAD) and architecture for applications/features/business components/data models; clarify requirements and provide guidance to development team; present design options to customers; conduct product demos.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must-Have Qualifications: 7+ years of professional experience, with 4+ years in Java and Spring Framework development. Strong experience with Java programming and the Spring Framework. Solid understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture. Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL or MySQL). Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. Working knowledge of CI/CD tools and pipelines. Understanding of software engineering best practices including version control, unit testing, and integration testing. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Experience in Agile/Scrum teams. Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
