Job summary

Apple Inc. in Hyderabad, Telangana, India, is seeking a senior data and software engineering lead to architect and deliver scalable, distributed systems for the Supply Chain Innovation team.

You will design graph-based data models with Neo4j, lead cross-functional teams, and drive cloud-native deployments across AWS/Azure/GCP. You will mentor engineers, review architectures, and collaborate with product owners and end users to ship robust solutions on tight deadlines, while advancing security

Qualifications

• 10+ years in data engineering, database design, or software development.
• 5+ years in data engineering, backend development, or database design.
• 3+ years hands-on Neo4j experience (designing graph models, Cypher, tuning).
• Experience with APIs, microservices, and data integration frameworks.
• Understanding of graph theory concepts such as nodes, relationships and traversals.
• Familiarity with Neo4j Bloom, GraphQL for Neo4j, or Graph Data Science library.
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL pipelines, NoSQL/SQL databases.
• Bachelor's / Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent.

• Design, develop, and optimize highly scalable, distributed systems, leveraging cloud-native technologies and micro services architecture to build robust and resilient solutions.
• Lead proof-of-concept projects and pilot implementations to showcase new ideas.

• Contribute to design and code reviews, and assist in debugging and resolving issues.
• Contribute to solution and architectural design reviews.
• Develop system components and take full responsibility for the timely delivery, quality, and performance of the team’s work.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, QA, support teams, and end users.
• Lead, mentor, and guide a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Tackle complex technical challenges, drive innovation, and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies.
• Ability to successfully manage and collaborate with contractors.
• Ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Team lead experience is a plus. Occasionally, will need to handle application production (warranty) support.

Minimum Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional experience in data engineering, database design, or software development
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, backend development, or database design.
• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience with Neo4j (designing graph models, writing Cypher queries, performance tuning).
• Experience with APIs, Microservices, and data integration frameworks.
• Understanding of graph theory concepts — nodes, relationships, traversals, and centrality algorithms.
• Familiarity with Neo4j Bloom, GraphQL for Neo4j, or GDS (Graph Data Science) library.
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Knowledge of data modeling, ETL pipelines, and NoSQL/SQL databases.
• Bachelor's / Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to supply chain, product lifecycle, or recommendation systems.
• Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
• Experience with graph analytics, ML integrations, or knowledge graphs.
• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.Knowledge of data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or custom dashboards).
• AI/ML-related experience is a plus.
• A strong understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering and RAG.
• Experience in developing applications for the Supply Chain business domain is a plus.
• Experience in leading and mentoring engineers.
