Job summary

Qualcomm India Private Limited is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software that powers cutting-edge products. You will work closely with systems, hardware, architecture and test engineers to ensure robust software solutions that meet performance targets.

The role requires strong software engineering background, experience with APIs, and familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Perforce.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 3+ years of software experience.
• Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 2+ years of software experience.
• PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 1+ year of software experience.

Responsibilities

• Leverages software knowledge to design, develop, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software and related utilities.
• Analyzes user needs and software requirements to design and customize software for operational efficiency.
• Designs and implements software modules for products and systems.
• Participates in coding for large features, unit testing, debugging, and integration to meet specifications.
• Performs code reviews and regression tests and triages issues to ensure code quality.
• Collaborates with internal and external teams to achieve project objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Database Management Software.
• 3+ years of experience with API.
• 1+ year of work experience with Git, Perforce, or Source Code Management System.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Leverages Software knowledge and experience to design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
• Analyzes user needs and software requirements to design and customize software for optimal operational efficiency.
• Designs and implements software modules for products and systems.
• Participates in the design, coding for large features, unit testing, significant debugging fixes, and integration efforts to ensure projects are completed to specifications and schedules.
• Performs code reviews and regression tests as well as triages and fixes issues to ensure the quality of code.
• Collaborates with others inside and outside of project team to accomplish project objectives.

Level of Responsibility:

• Works independently with minimal supervision.
• Decision-making may affect work beyond immediate work group.
• Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
• Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
