Responsibilities

The Lead Engineer is assigned to a project as a key member of the design team, responsible for the proper and timely execution within the discipline of the design and requisitioning in accordance with the control estimate and specific project requirements. They also ensure that the Group’s technical policies are followed, consider any special contractual requirements and manage the activity as assigned by Group Lead / Section Head / DM. Responsibilities include inter‑discipline coordination, participation in client meetings, preparation of meeting notes, maintaining needs list / hold list / comments log / assumption list, forecasting resource requirements per budget and schedule, client relationship management, and use of Jacobs Project Management tools and systems.

Qualifications

• 12‑15 years of experience and a BE/Btech Degree in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering
• Strong experience in design of pharmaceutical / life science / biotech facilities / specialty chemical plants, particularly piping design
• In‑depth knowledge of pharmaceutical / life science / biotech facility inter‑discipline requirements
• Knowledge of engineering codes and standards, including ASME BPE
• Reasonable knowledge of flexibility requirements
• Skilled in PID and AFD reviews
• Experience with MTO/BOQ preparation
• Familiarity with datasheets of piping items
• Technical bid evaluation experience
• Construction engineering deliverables knowledge
• Proficiency with 3D modelling tools
