Job summary

BotFriday AI is assembling a new engineering team to build, deliver, and maintain products from the ground up. You will take ownership of backend initiatives, lead a team, and drive design decisions to ensure scalable, reliable software built with Java and Spring.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and operations, and help shape best practices across the stack, including occasional ReactJS work. If you enjoy solving hard problems and growing a team, this role is for you.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend focus.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team.
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring.
• Strong understanding of backend architecture and system design.
• Understanding of DevOps and production environments.
• Full-stack experience with ReactJS is a plus.

Join a newly forming engineering team as a senior technical member, where you'll help build, deliver, and maintain products from the ground up. You'll bring strong backend expertise, take ownership of technical decisions, and lead a team to build reliable, scalable software.

What you'll do

• Lead backend engineering initiatives from design and development through delivery and maintenance
• Own technical decisions and contribute to the architecture of scalable, maintainable systems
• Build and deliver robust applications using Java and Spring
• Work across the stack when needed, with exposure to ReactJS being a strong advantage
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to break down complex problems and deliver practical solutions
• Define and imlement engineering best practices
• Ensure code quality, and long-term maintainability of your team's code
• Support operational aspects of the systems and have a good understanding of DevOps and production environments
• Mentor and guide other engineers

What we're looking for

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with strong expertise in backend development
• 2+ years of experience leading a team
• Expert-level proficiency in Java and Spring
• Strong understanding of backend architecture, system design, and scalable software development
• Good understanding of operations, production environments, and DevOps practices
• Full-stack experience is preferred, with ReactJS being a strong advantage
