Our current product development portfolio includes a solar-powered stratospheric aircraft, the high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) ,air/ ground-launched smart autonomous unmanned systems, AR/VR systems and Air Combat Simulators.

Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Flight Controls Engineer to lead and drive the development of cutting-edge flight control systems for aeroelastic aircraft. This role involves technical leadership and innovation to ensure the highest performance and reliability of UAV control systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in flight control engineering and flight testing, significant experience with certification processes, and a proven track record of leading complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Excellence
  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced flight control algorithms and systems for UAVs.
  • Oversee the optimization of control loops for stability, performance, and robustness.
  • Ensure the integration of state-of-the-art technologies and methodologies in flight control systems.
  • Oversee flight testing and flight data analysis
Project Management
  • Lead and manage flight control projects from concept to deployment.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Monitor project progress, manage risks, and ensure timely delivery of milestones.
Certification and Compliance
  • Ensure flight control systems meet all relevant certification requirements, including DO-178C standards.
  • Lead the preparation and review of documentation and artifacts required for certification processes.
  • Interface with regulatory bodies to achieve necessary certifications for UAV systems.
Innovation and Research
  • Stay at the forefront of advancements in flight control technologies and UAV industry trends.
  • Drive research and development initiatives to enhance UAV performance and capabilities.
  • Apply first-principles thinking to problem formulation and solution synthesis, driving innovation in flight control systems development.
Mentorship and Development
  • Mentor and develop junior and senior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Lead technical training and knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team.
  • Promote best practices and a collaborative engineering culture.
Integration and Collaboration
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and avionics engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Support the development of system-level requirements and specifications.
Documentation and Reporting

Oversee the preparation and review of technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and reports.

Communicate progress, challenges, and results to stakeholders.

Qualifications
Education

Master's or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with relevant thesis/ project.

Experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in flight control system design and development, with a focus on UAVs.
  • Extensive proficiency in control system design and analysis using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Significant experience with DO-178C certification processes and requirements.
  • Proven track record of leading successful flight control system projects.
Technical Skills
  • Deep understanding of control theory, flight dynamics, and kinematics.
  • Expertise with embedded systems and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • In-depth knowledge of UAV autopilot systems, navigation sensors, and communication protocols.
  • Experience with model-based design and development.
Soft Skills
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with machine learning and AI applications in flight control systems.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards (DGCA/ CEMILAC) and safety protocols for UAVs.
