Job summary

Wabtec Corporation in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Electrical Harness Design Engineer to lead harness routing, 3D/2D documentation and integration across train systems. You will use E-base/CREO and PRO/E CREO/CATIA V5 to develop functional schematics, harness layouts and part mountings.

The role demands ownership of work packages, risk management and on-time delivery. Educational requirement is B.Tech in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years in harness design and related areas.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant industrial experience in Harness design and routing, functional schematic design and sheet metal design.
• Hands-on experience on E-base/CREO Electrical schematics.
• Knowledge in developing concepts in PRO/E CREO/ CATIA V5 for parts, subsystems and mountings.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical harness integration outputs in line with quality, cost and delivery commitments.
• Route electrical harness in PRO/E, CREO/CATIA V5 per schematic.
• Create functional schematics in EBASE/CREO schematic tool for train systems.
• Create harness bundles, perform volumetric space analysis and EMC-based segregation.
• Design sheet metal brackets and mounting definitions for harness routing.
• Select 3D routing components and electrical parts for train systems.
• Mount electrical equipment in train systems (PLCs, DC-DC, etc.).
• Package electrical control components in train systems and create 3D flattening drawings.
• Generate 2D wiring harness drawings and support packaging, accessibility, troubleshooting and service.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Is accountable for the Delivery of Electrical Harness Integration outputs, in compliance with the Engineering Quality Cost and Delivery commitments.
• Electrical harness routing in PRO E, CREO/CATIA V5 based on the schematic.
• Functional schematic design in EBASE\ CREO schematic tool (or any equivalent tool) for the WABTEC trains systems (Door, HVAC, Brakes etc.)
• Harness bundle creation, Volumetric space analysis, Dynamic loop, segregation of harnesses based on the EMC (Electromagnetic Compatibility) classification.
• Sheet metal brackets design and mounting definition for harness routing.
• Selection of harness 3D routing components (Gland, connector, mounting clamps, plastic cable ducts, conduit, mounting clips, etc.)
• Selection of electrical components for train systems (MCB, Contactor, Relay, Connectors etc.)
• Mounting of Electrical equipment’s in train systems (System controllers PLC, DC-DC converter, Voltage Modulator, etc.)
• Packaging of electrical control components in train systems (Contactor, MCB, Relay, Terminal block etc.)
• Creation of 3D flattening drawings for harness assembly.
• Creation of 2D Wiring Harness drawing, supporting CFT for packaging, accessing, troubleshooting and service.

Monitors, controls, and consolidates her/his work package. As such:

• Organizes and leads the work package reviews for the project in charge.
• Manages Risk, Assessment and Mitigation Plan.
