Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and collaborative ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping Engineer to join our IT Service Management team. This role is critical in enabling visibility into our infrastructure and application services through ServiceNow’s Discovery and Service Mapping capabilities. The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain ServiceNow Discovery and Automated Service Mapping to ensure accurate and actionable CMDB data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including infrastructure, application, network, and security to identify and map services and dependencies.
  • Develop and optimize patterns, probes, and sensors to enhance discovery accuracy and coverage.
  • Troubleshoot discovery and mapping issues, including MID Server connectivity, credential failures, and CI relationship gaps.
  • Ensure CMDB data integrity through reconciliation, normalization, and lifecycle management.
  • Document processes, configurations, and service maps for operational transparency and knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and compliance standards.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping.
  • Strong understanding of CMDB architecture, CI relationships, and ITIL processes.
  • Experience with network protocols (SNMP, SSH, WMI), MID Server deployment, and credential management.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, regex, and ServiceNow scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure environments.

  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with third‑party tools (e.g., SCCM, vCenter).
