Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with Java JDK 17+ and REST APIs (OpenApi).
  • Proficiency in Angular, React JS, JavaScript and HTML; JUnit 5, integration & acceptance testing.
  • Experience with TDD and cloud platforms, preferably AWS or OpenShift.
  • Hands-on with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Claude Code, GitLab Duo).
  • Solid JavaScript/TypeScript skills with Gradle (Kotlin DSL preferred).
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD (Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus).
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration and Kafka.
  • Knowledge of Spark and Elasticsearch in data analytics contexts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, deliver and maintain scalable software solutions across the tech stack.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements and align with business goals.
  • Participate in code reviews, promote code quality and knowledge sharing, and stay updated on tech trends.
  • Ensure secure coding practices and implement unit tests for reliability and maintainability.

Job description

Embark on a transformative journey as Lead Engineer , where you'll spearhead the delivery of the technology stack, using strong analytical and problem-solving skills to understand the business requirements and deliver quality solutions coming up with the process design of the Foundational / Consolidated and Business data Products. You will be working on complex technical problems that will involve detailed analytical skills and analysis. This will be done in conjunction with fellow engineers, business analysts, and business stakeholders.

To be successful as a Lead Engineer, you should have experience with:
  • Strong hands‑on experience in Java JDK 17+ & REST (Open Api).
  • Proficiency in Angular, React JS, Java scripting and HTML & J Unit 5, Integration testing and Acceptance Testing and associated libraries.
  • Strong exposure of TDD software development practices.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms, especially AWS or OpenShift.
  • Practical knowledge and hands‑on experience with AI-powered development tools such as Copilot, Claude Code, and GitLab Duo.
  • Strong JavaScript and/or TypeScript skills with proficiency in React & experience using Gradle, ideally with Kotlin DSL.
  • Proficiency with Docker & CI/CD automation experience (Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus Repository) & understanding of container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience with data messaging platforms like Apache Kafka.
  • Familiarity with data analytics platforms and tools such as Spark and Elasticsearch & Scrum Master experience.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

  • Development and delivery of high‑quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross‑functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
