SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY (Purpose of the Role)
The Cluster Head – MEP Electrical is responsible for leading and managing all electrical systems across a cluster of projects including LT/HT systems, lighting, power distribution, DG sets, earthing, and allied services. The role ensures technical excellence, cost efficiency, statutory compliance, and timely delivery of MEP electrical systems in alignment with organizational standards and project objectives.
SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Drive cost optimization and value engineering across cluster projects
- Approve budgets, monitor variations, and control lifecycle costs of electrical systems
- Support major contract negotiations and commercial decisions
- Track cost savings and efficiency improvements across projects
Customer Perspective
- Act as senior technical interface with project leadership and key stakeholders
- Ensure timely resolution of critical electrical system issues
- Support customer handover and major technical clarifications
- Build strong working relationships with consultants and vendors
Internal Process Perspective
- Lead planning and execution strategy for LT/HT electrical systems
- Review and approve designs, BOQs, and technical submittals
- Ensure compliance with statutory, safety, and quality standards
- Monitor contractor performance and project progress across the cluster
- Drive standardization of systems, specifications, and best practices
- Ensure preparation of as-built drawings and project documentation

- Ability to leverage the principles of mechanical / electrical / plumbing / ICT system engineering (as applicable) to understand the contract specifications to design, engineer, and optimize integrated designs that enhance performance of the infrastructure, comply with regulatory norms and codes while ensuring system reliability
- Ability to utilize advanced knowledge of quantity estimation, construction sequencing and execution planning to develop Good for Construction drawings (GFC), incorporating all execution level detailing, specifications and shop drawings that align with project goals and regulatory requirements
- Ability to apply knowledge of principles and technical requirements of various disciplines (e.g. - Architectural / Structural / Mechanical / Electrical / ELV / Plumbing system / ICT system / sustainability and other functional systems etc.) and understand interdependencies while bidding / planning / designing / executing / supporting (as applicable) construction projects
- Ability to understand project/package requirements and create baseline project schedules using relevant tools (such as Gantt charts, Critical Path Method (CPM), and PERT charts, Primavera, Microsoft Project, etc.) based on agreed milestones, historical data, constraints, resource productivity, and availability of resources in order to plan and track project tasks and milestones, and identify dependencies
- Ability to apply knowledge of local / regional / national and international (as applicable) construction-specific regulations and standards related to design, execution, quality, environment and safety (ISO standards / BIS / BSI / ACI / ASTM / NBC / ASHRAE / IGBC / IEEE and other standards applicable to the specific area of work) as per the project requirements and interpret their implications on construction projects to ensure integration into workflows and documentation and compliance with industry standards and safety, environment and quality assurance requirements
- Ability to utilize knowledge of electrical engineering principles, relevant codes, and load criteria to develop a comprehensive Design Basis Report for electrical systems, along with preparing Standard Notes and Details, ensuring alignment with project objectives, optimal system performance, and adherence to regulatory compliance for successful project execution.

- Ability to identify, onboard, and coordinate with architectural, design, engineering, and specialist consultants; conduct technical evaluations; align scopes of work; manage deliverables; and monitor consultant performance against timelines, quality standards, and contractual obligations. Ensures effective resolution of queries, adherence to regulatory and project requirements, and seamless integration of consultant outputs to support timely and compliant project execution.
- Ability to translate GTM requirements into coordinated design and project?readiness actions by aligning layouts, specifications, approvals, and technical deliverables with the product brief and partnership commitments. Ensures timely preparation of drawings, feasibility checks, and project information needed for BD, Marketing, and Commercial functions.
- Ability to integrate technical considerations across disciplines while managing trade-offs involving interdisciplinary criteria to ensure seamless project execution.
