Job summary

FLSmidth in Chennai is seeking a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to own Filtration and Flotation projects within the Separation product line. You will lead and mentor a design team, develop and review electrical control and instrumentation deliverables, and coordinate with customers and vendors to ensure on-time delivery.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of hands-on E&I experience in mining, with strong knowledge of P&ID, JB layouts, and panel design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, electronic, or related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of proven Electrical & Instrumentation engineering experience in mining, including preparation and review of deliverables such as Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cable Interconnection Drawings, Control System Interlocking Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Instrument Hook-Ups, Instrument Location Plans, JB Grouping, PLC Architecture Drawings, and Instrument Datasheets.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineers and taking technical ownership of projects.
• Expertise in reviewing P&ID drawings.
• Proficiency in creating Panel Layout and JB Layout drawings.
• Hands-on experience supporting installation and commissioning of C&I equipment in process industries.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office and other modern engineering tools.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, NEMA, CSA, IS, and other global standards.
• Familiarity with FLSmidth products/equipment and mining equipment is preferred.

What You Bring

• Minimum 10 years of proven, hands-on Electrical & Instrumentation engineering experience in the mining industry, including preparation and review of deliverables such as Instrument Lists, IO Lists, Cable Interconnection Drawings, Control System Interlocking Diagrams, Cable Schedules, Instrument Hook-Ups, Instrument Location Plans, JB Grouping, PLC Architecture Drawings, and Instrument Datasheets, as well as review of offers, electro-mechanical documents, and vendor drawings for mining/mineral processing products/projects, particularly Filtration and Flotation.
• Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring engineers and taking technical ownership of assigned projects.
• Expertise in reviewing P&ID drawings.
• Proficiency in creating Panel Layout and JB Layout drawings.
• Hands-on experience supporting installation and commissioning of control and instrumentation (C&I) equipment in process industries.
