Qualifications

Summary

We are seeking a Lead Developer to launch and run a software team at our brand-new site in Chennai, India. You will manage and guide a team of up to 5 developers, play a key role in hiring, and shape the team’s growth. The role is split 50/50 between hands‑on development and technical leadership / management. You will act as a key liaison between the UK and the local engineering teams, so strong communication skills in both technical and non-technical subjects are a must.

Role

As a Lead Developer, you will report to the Head of Technology (based in London).

Core Responsibilities:

Leading the development of new features and platform improvements.
Managing, mentoring and motivating team members.
Liaising with UK based stakeholders and ensuring team alignment with business and technical objectives.
Planning, coordinating and delivering technical projects to the agreed schedule.
Championing and enforcing technical standards.
Ensuring the SDLC is followed within the team.
Assisting with hiring, onboarding, and developing the team.
