Job summary

Bandhan Life seeks an experienced Applied AI leader to design and build next-generation AI systems for the life insurance value chain. This hands-on role focuses on GenAI, automated underwriting, and intelligent decisioning to improve customer acquisition, risk assessment, cross-sell, persistency, and claims automation.

You will collaborate across Product, Sales, Marketing, Risk, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Technology to deliver scalable AI solutions that drive growth and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• First-principles problem solver with bias for action.
• 7–10 years of hands-on Analytics, Data Science, Predictive Modelling, and Deep Learning.
• Strong understanding of statistics, ML, and model evaluation.
• Proficient in Python, SQL, and ML/DL libraries.
• Proven experience with LLMs: prompt engineering, fine-tuning, RAG, and orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with NLP, text mining, speech AI, and conversational AI pipelines.
• Experience with CV and video models; multimodal systems for decisioning.
• Deploy AI systems on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP); Docker/Kubernetes; CI/CD.
• Insurance, BFSI, FinTech, or HealthTech preferred.
• Exposure to Google Analytics/BigQuery is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and build AI systems across the life insurance value chain, including automated underwriting and intelligent decisioning.
• Collaborate with Product, Sales, Risk, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Tech teams to deliver AI solutions with measurable business impact.
• Develop end-to-end ML/GenAI pipelines from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.

Role Overview:

This is a high-impact role for a hands on Applied AIleader who thrives at the intersection of advanced data science, GenAI, andbusiness strategy, and is passionate about using AI to make life insurance moreaccessible, personalized, and efficient.

To design and build next-generation AI systems across thelife insurance value chain, including AI-powered sales coaching, automatedunderwriting, and intelligent decisioning, solving problems such as customeracquisition, risk assessment, cross-sell, persistency, and claims automationusing advanced analytics, deep learning, and GenAI.

To collaborate closely with Product, Sales, Marketing,Risk, Underwriting, Actuarial, and Technology teams to build scalable AIsolutions that directly impact business growth, efficiency, and customerexperience.

Key Focus Areas:

• Drive Analytics& AI-led strategy to solve complex business problems using data, decisionscience, and GenAI.
• Identify customerand process friction points and propose innovative, AI-driven solutions.
• Architectstructured approaches and roadmaps for Analytics & AI use cases.
• Design and developAI systems and models leveraging both structured and unstructured data (text,voice, images, video).
• Build end-to-end ML/ GenAI pipelines — from data ingestion and modeling to deployment andmonitoring.
• Partner withbusiness stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Sales, Risk, Underwriting, CustomerService, Actuarial) to deliver measurable business impact.

Qualifications & Competencies:

• A first-principles problem solverwho challenges the status quo, thinks creatively, and has a strong bias foraction.
• 7–10 years of strong hands-onexperience in Advanced Analytics, Data Science, Predictive Modelling, and DeepLearning.
• Solid understanding of statistics,machine learning, and model evaluation techniques.
• Strong proficiency in Python,SQL, and ML/DL libraries (PyTorch/TensorFlow, scikit-learn, etc.).
• Proven experience with LLMs:prompt engineering, fine-tuning (LoRA/PEFT), RAG, agents, and orchestrationframeworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar).
• Experience with NLP, textmining, speech AI (ASR/STT, TTS), and conversational AI pipelines.
• Experience with computer visionand video models, embeddings, and familiarity with transformer-based videoarchitectures (e.g., VideoMAE, TimeSformer, etc.).
• Experience building multimodalsystems combining text, voice, vision, and structured data for decisioning.
• Experience deploying AI systems oncloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP); strong exposure to AWS services(Lambda, S3, SNS, SQS, EC2, RDS, KMS, SageMaker). Familiarity with Docker,Kubernetes, CI/CD, and scalable inference pipelines.
• Experience in Insurance, BFSI,FinTech, or HealthTech preferred.
• Exposure to digital analyticsplatforms (e.g., Google Analytics, BigQuery) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree inEngineering, Technology, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields from areputed institute; MBA is a plus.
