London Stock Exchange Group in Bengaluru seeks a Senior Lead Data Platform Engineer to design and evolve the enterprise data platform for ServiceNow, CMDB and ITSM data, delivering trusted, governed data products at enterprise scale.

You will work with observability, incident management and software change management, mentor engineers and contribute to long-term platform strategy using Python, Iceberg, Snowflake and ClickHouse in AWS/Azure environments.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering or large-scale software engineering.
  • Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, including lineage, governance, metadata management, temporal data modelling, data quality and historical data management.
  • Experience designing, building and operating scalable data platforms and data pipelines.
  • Strong Python programming skills and experience building data-intensive applications, services and frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL expertise, including performance tuning and optimization of analytical workloads.
  • Strong understanding of modern ETL/ELT architectures and data product design principles.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, CI/CD, automated testing and operational excellence.
  • Experience driving technical architecture discussions and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Experience leveraging modern developer productivity tools, including GitHub Copilot, Claude, Codex or similar toolchains.
  • Excellent problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and evolve the enterprise data platform for ServiceNow, CMDB and ITSM data.
  • Design and build reusable data platform capabilities that enable delivery of governed, trusted and discoverable data products at enterprise scale.
  • Improve data quality, lineage, metadata management and governance across the platform.
  • Enable governed, self-service access to operational data for downstream consumers while minimizing data duplication and silos.
  • Partner with teams across observability, incident management and software change management to understand data requirements and deliver platform capabilities.
  • Design and implement data lifecycle management capabilities including historical tracking, auditability, traceability and data retention strategies.
  • Contribute to platform architecture, engineering standards, reliability and operational excellence.
  • Diagnose production incidents, identify root causes and provide expert support for critical platform services.
  • Mentor engineers and contribute to the growth of data engineering and platform engineering capabilities across the team.
