Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Facilities Technician to operate, maintain, and repair chilled water systems, HVAC units, and critical power distribution. You will monitor building management and control systems, respond to alarms, and ensure maximum data centre efficiency.

You will work with contractors on upgrades and participate in budget planning while contributing to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-demand environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in data centre facilities environment.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems within critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with NFPA/NEC compliance and fire life safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain, and repair chilled water systems and HVAC components (CRAC/CRAH, humidification).
  • Oversee electrical distribution from main switchgear through UPS to customer load.
  • Maintain fire suppression systems and associated detection devices; monitor abnormal conditions.
  • Collaborate with contractors for national projects, budget tracking, and maintenance planning.

responsibilities includes operation, maintenance and repair of chilled water systems and components, HVAC systems such as roof top units, CRAC/CRAH units, and humidification systems.Electrical responsibilities includes operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical/critical power distribution from the Utility/Generator main switchgear through the UPS systems out to the customer load.Fire Life Safety responsibilities includes operation, maintenance, and repair of fire suppression systems, including wet sprinkler systems and pre-action sprinkler systems as well as their associated detection devices.Operates, monitors, maintains, and responds to abnormal conditions in facilities systems, areas include: Electrical, Mechanical and Building Monitoring and Control Systems.Tracks and analyses trends relating to MEP system and equipment operational characteristics.Provides feedback to relevant teams on the effectiveness of existing standards and processes.Works with contractors and consultants for all National Projects, consultants and clients fit-outs, system expansions, corrections, and upgrades.Works with relevant teams to follow and track annual budgets.Works with relevant teams to relay the status of the planned maintenance program status.Ensures data centre operates at maximum operational efficiency, including analysing existing operating conditions, recommending new technologies, and improving overall efficiency and cost reduction.Works with relevant teams to ensure the data centre operates at maximum operational efficiency.Serves in a technical writing capacity regarding the creation, review, and approval of procedures for operations, preventative or corrective maintenance activities and emergency operating procedures.Performs other duties as assigned.Ensures a regular, predictable attendance which is essential for satisfactory performance.Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:Firm and proven understanding of the electrical and mechanical systems used in a data centre environment, including, but not limited to the following: electrical distribution and layout, transformers, PLC's, Generators, Switchgear, UPS systems, STS, ATS, PDU/RPP's, Chilled Water Systems, CRAC/CRAH's, Pre-Action Sprinkler Systems and associate Fire/Smoke Detections systems.Advanced level knowledge of NEC, NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, NFPA 25, and compliance
