  • Provide oversight on credit applications, portfolio risk management activities, and transaction-level analysis to ensure recommendations are supported by sound analysis, objective views, and clear identification of key risks.
  • Guide the team in independently analyzing, or partnering with more senior credit professionals where appropriate, to evaluate the risk of adding transactions to the bank loan portfolio.
  • Identify and guide additional information requirements needed to properly assess transaction risks, customer business models, long-term viability, and continued credit worthiness of borrowers.
  • Review and assess the financial strength and soundness of customers, including timely identification and escalation of key risks, early warning indicators, and potential red flags across the assigned portfolio.
  • Consider and guide alternative credit structures to mitigate risk where appropriate, while ensuring credit facilities presented are properly graded and recommendations are well supported.
  • Ensure assigned timelines are met and documentation requirements are completed in line with business, policy, Risk Guidelines, and audit expectations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and act as a trusted credit partner by providing timely, thoughtful, and well-reasoned credit perspectives.
  • Lead and independently drive business-critical projects, strategic initiatives, and process improvement efforts that improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, quality, and stakeholder delivery.
  • Identify process inefficiencies, partner with relevant teams to resolve issues, and support a culture of continuous improvement, ownership, accountability, and disciplined execution.
  • Encourage critical thinking and problem solving across the team, including the ability to challenge assumptions, gain new insights, think outside the box, and improve delivery of services to stakeholders.
