Job summary

Data Marshall is seeking an experienced AI Architect to own the end-to-end AI/ML architecture for its platform suite in Hyderabad. The role includes defining the technical roadmap for AI-assisted coding initiatives and leading production features from prototype to scaled deployment.

Strong Python skills and expertise in ML frameworks, MLOps, and cloud infra are essential. You will guide governance, explainability, and compliance while mentoring a growing AI engineering team on site.

Role & responsibilities

AI Architecture & Roadmap Ownership

• Own the end-to-end AI/ML architecture for RevHC's platform suite, including AI-assisted medical coding, claims automation, and agentic workflows.
• Define the technical roadmap for expanding AI-assisted coding initiatives.
• Set architectural direction for our Platform's one-data strategy, partnering with the Data Lead on the canonical data layer.
• Evaluate and select LLM providers, model frameworks, and inference infrastructure aligned to cost, latency, and accuracy requirements. Applied AI Delivery & Engineering Leadership
• Lead design and delivery of production AI features end-to-end from prototype through scaled deployment.
• Drive adoption of AI-driven engineering accelerators across the broader engineering team, building on the initial rollout to five engineers.
• Review model performance, confidence thresholds, and human-override logic before features go to production.
• Partner with the Agentic AI Engineer to architect the agent platform and define the boundaries of autonomous vs. human-in-the loop actions. AI Governance, Explainability & Compliance
• Own AI Governance & Data Discipline deliverables, including RevHC's pursuit of ISO 42001 certification.
• Define explainability, audit-trail, and human-oversight standards for every AI feature shipped.
• Establish guardrails, monitoring, and escalation protocols for AI systems operating in a regulated, healthcare-adjacent environment.
• Partner with the Tech Compliance function (as it is staffed) on HIPAA/SOC 2-aligned AI controls. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Engagement
• Build, mentor, and grow the AI Engineering pod currently the Senior AI Engineer, AI Engineers, Junior AI Engineers, and Agentic AI Engineer.
• Represent AI Engineering in leadership reviews, budget planning, and roadmap prioritization discussions.
• Partner with Product/BA, Data Engineering, and QA to align AI feature delivery with platform and client commitments.
• Own hiring, technical interviewing, and onboarding for future AI Engineering roles.

NON-NEGOTIABLE REQUIREMENTS

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 23 years in a technical leadership or architecture role.

Proven experience designing and shipping production-grade AI/ML systems not just proofs of concept including LLM-based or GenAI applications.

• Strong Python engineering skills and deep familiarity with ML/AI frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, LangChain, or equivalent).
• Working knowledge of MLOps practices model versioning, deployment pipelines, monitoring, and retraining workflows.
• Experience with cloud AI/ML infrastructure (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP acceptable) and vector search / RAG architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous business problems into AI system design you've owned architecture decisions, not just implementation.
• People leadership experience has managed or mentored a team of AI engineers.
• Excellent written and verbal English for leadership, client, and cross-functional communication.

STRONG DIFFERENTIATORS

• Experience in the US healthcare / RCM domain (medical coding, claims, billing, or payer workflows) is a strong plus not mandatory.
• Prior experience building AI governance frameworks or navigating AI compliance standards (ISO 42001, NIST AI RMF, or equivalent).
• Experience architecting agentic AI systems multi-agent orchestration, tool use, autonomous decisioning with human oversight. Background in a product company shipping AI features at scale, not just services or consulting.
• Exposure to medical coding taxonomies (ICD-10, CPT) or clinical NLP is valuable but not required.

Preferred candidate profile

8–10 years in AI/ML engineering, including architecture and technical leadership.
