Job summary

Cyient seeks an experienced Design Engineer to contribute to aerostructure design and drafting. You will develop 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5, create MBd, and manage data with PLM tools for aerospace programs.

You will review drawings, support manufacturing, participate in design reviews, and ensure GD&T compliance and revision control. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aero Engineering and 9–15 years in aerospace are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering.
• 9–15 years of experience in aerospace or engineering design.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 and GD&T.
• Experience with PLM tools like Enovia/Teamcenter.
• Strong understanding of aerostructure design and sheet metal components.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings, MBD using CATIA.
• Perform aerostructure design for fuselage, primary & secondary structures, brackets, sheet metal parts, and assemblies.
• Create/modify engineering drawings and MBd per standards.
• Work with PLM tools such as Enovia/Teamcenter for data management and release process.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and aerospace standards (GD&T, tolerances).
• Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams; participate in design reviews.

Experience: 9-15 Years

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop 3D models and 2D drawings, MBD using CATIA
• Perform aerostructure design for components such as fuselage, primary & Secondary support structures, brackets, sheet metal parts, and assemblies
• Create and modify engineering drawings, MBD as per standards
• Work with PLM tools like Enovia/Team Center for data management and release process
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and aerospace standards (GD&T, tolerances)
• Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions
• Maintain proper documentation and revision control

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of aerostructure design concepts
• Proficiency in GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
• Hands-on experience with CATIA V5
• Experience with PLM tools such as Enovia / Teamcenter
• Good understanding of sheet metal, machining, and assembly design
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering
• 9-15 years of experience in aerospace or engineering design domain

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in aerospace programs (Airbus/Boeing)
• Basic knowledge of stress analysis and manufacturing processes
• Good communication and teamwork skills
