The candidate should have a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 1 to 4 years of experience in laser cutting or sheet metal design. Proficiency in CAD software like AutoCAD or SolidWorks is essential.

• Knowledge of laser cutting processes and sheet metal fabrication.

The Laser Cutting Drawing Design Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and production ready drawings for laser cutting operations. The role involves converting design requirements into detailed 2D/3D drawings, nesting layouts, and coordinating with production and quality teams to ensure efficient and error-free manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare laser cutting drawings as per customer specifications, project requirements, and manufacturing standards.
• Convert hand sketches, CAD models, or technical inputs into detailed cutting drawings.
• Create nesting layouts to optimize material usage and reduce scrap.
• Ensure all drawings are accurate, dimensionally correct, and suitable for production.
• Coordinate with the production team to resolve drawing or fabrication issues.
• Maintain drawing records, revisions, and documentation as per company standards.
• Review and check drawings before releasing them to the shop floor.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and tolerances.
• Support the estimation team with drawing-related inputs, if required.
• Work closely with the sales, project, and quality teams for design modifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software.
• Knowledge of laser cutting processes and sheet metal fabrication.
• Understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturing techniques.
