Job summary

Rohan Group is seeking an on-site Laboratory Technician to perform sampling and testing of construction materials at the batching plant site. You will maintain the laboratory facilities, assist the QC Engineer, and support in documenting test results and maintaining records.

The ideal candidate will handle sampling, testing procedures, and calibration schedules while ensuring clean, organized lab operations and adherence to SOPs. This role emphasizes teamwork with the QC team and site operations.

Qualifications

• Understanding of basic test procedures for construction materials.
• Ability to conduct sampling and testing of concrete materials.
• Good documentation and record-keeping practices.

Responsibilities

• Sampling of materials from stacks or directed locations using correct methods.
• Prepare samples in specified manner for testing.
• Operate and maintain testing equipment and instruments as required.
• Train helpers in lab for sampling and testing and have them assessed by QC Engineer.
• Maintain housekeeping and calibration of testing facilities and curing tanks.
• Support QC Engineer in monitoring curing and post-pour inspection.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Sampling of materials
  • - Collect samples from stacks or directed locations with correct manner
  • - Prepare samples in specified manner for testing
• 2. Testing of samples
  • - Keep all the testing equipment and instruments in order.
  • - Maintain all the testing procedures at display in neat manner
  • - Test the samples under the guidance of QC Engineer
  • - Support QC Engineer to maintain records of tests
• 3. General activities
  • - Keep preventive maintenance of all testing equipment instruments with schedule
  • - Keep records of maintenance and calibration of all testing facilities
  • - Train helpers in lab for sampling testing and get them assessed by QC Engineer
  • - Maintain housekeeping in and around laboratory and batching plant
  • - Maintain curing tank in order with scheduled change of water, cleaning
  • - Maintain clean water at water storage tank near batching plant
  • - Keep discipline in routine sampling testing of concrete
  • - Supervision in concreting, as when required.
  • - Support during testing from external agencies
  • - Support QC Engineer in all his operations
  • - Support for monitoring curing and post pour inspection
