Job summary

The Hans Foundation invites applications for a Laboratory Technician position at its MMU unit. The contract is for 1 year, renewable, with focus on sampling, testing, and recording results across biological, chemical, physical and life sciences.

The role requires a DMLT/BMLT, Hindi and local dialect proficiency, 0–3 years hospital/public health experience, and a commitment to safety and confidentiality. Reporting to the Project Coordinator, you will support field camps and ensure timely delivery

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years relevant experience in a hospital/clinic or public health program.
  • The candidate should be well versed with Hindi and local dialect.
  • Punjab State paramedical registration is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Collect patient body fluids, tissue or blood samples, conduct tests and prepare reports.
  • Maintain strict Laboratory Quality Check Standards, including equipment calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality is strictly maintained.
  • Arrange timely delivery of reports to patients and doctors.
  • Support MMU team in effective conduct of field camps and activities.

1. JOB PURPOSE

Laboratory technician will be responsible for laboratory-based tasks which includes sampling, testing, measuring and recording results in biological, chemical, physical and life sciences. S/he will also provide all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively, while adhering to correct procedures for health and safety guidelines.

  • Collect patient body fluid, tissue or blood samples, conduct the tests and prepare the reports.
  • Maintain strict Laboratory Quality Check Standards, including regular equipment function verification, equipment calibration and ongoing troubleshooting efforts.
  • Respect strict adherence to patient confidentiality.
  • Arrange timely delivery of the reports to the patients and doctor.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers by following established standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Keep record of the consumables and reagents and generate the demand on a periodic basis to ensure regular supply.
  • Stock keeping of received and consumed reagents and consumables
  • Record keeping and daily updating of data base.
  • Support other members of MMU in effective conduct of the camp.
  • Complete other duties as assigned from time to time.

Educational Qualifications

A DMLT/BMLT from a recognized institute

Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)
  • 0-3 years relevant experience in a hospital/clinic or in public health program.
  • The candidate should be well versed with Hindi and local dialect
  • Should be patience, polite and have a positive attitude.
  • Punjab State paramedical registration is a must.
