Job summary

The role involves supervising lab operations, guiding students in language skills, coordinating with faculty and IT support, and maintaining equipment and records.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring discipline, proper usage of equipment, and adherence to laboratory guidelines.
• Managing the day-to-day functioning and smooth operation of the English Language Lab.
• Conducting and facilitating practical sessions to develop students’ listening, speaking, pronunciation, reading, writing, vocabulary, and communication skills.
• Assisting faculty members in planning and implementing language lab activities as part of the curriculum.
• Training students in the effective use of language-learning software and laboratory equipment.
• Monitoring students' participation, performance, and progress during lab sessions.
• Conducting communication skills activities such as pronunciation practice, role plays, group discussions, presentations, interviews, and public speaking exercises.
• Maintaining records of students’ attendance, performance, assessments, and lab activities.
• Ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance, and upkeep of computers, headsets, audio-visual equipment, language-learning software, and other lab resources.
• Coordinating with the IT/technical team whenever technical issues arise.
• Preparing reports related to lab activities, student performance, and utilisation of the laboratory.
• Performing any other academic or administrative responsibilities assigned in connection with the English Language Lab.
