Job summary

Sika in Pune (Chakan, Maharashtra) is seeking a Lab Assistant (3rd Party Payroll) to support routine tests and processing in the Automotive & Industry lab.

You will maintain instruments, manage lab inventory, ensure 5S practices, and coordinate sampling and dispatch of domestic and international samples, with a diploma or graduation and 0–2 years experience.

The role reports to Lab Manager in Technical Service Lab, with opportunities to learn and grow.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Graduation required with 0–2 years of work experience.
• Prior laboratory experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory of laboratory products, substrates, tools, and store it properly.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments.
• Follow 5S practices and document all activities.
• Prepare samples and dispatch couriers for TS and R&D labs.
• Assist with sampling and support laboratory technicians and manager.
• Monitor and record test results, manage data entry.

Target and scope of the position

The Laboratory Assistant supports laboratory tests and experiments through preparation and processing work. He is responsible for maintaining instruments and managing laboratory inventory. Working under immediate supervision, he performs routine and semi-skilled tasks such as collecting, preparing, and distributing, couriering the adhesive and substrates samples for field trials, as well as maintaining laboratory equipment’s and 5’S.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the inventory of products, substrates, tools, and store it properly in TS laboratory.
• Maintain the laboratory instruments, including calibration of equipment’s.
• Apply basic knowledge of laboratory activities and ensure 5S practices are consistently followed.
• Pack and dispatch domestic and international samples couriers for TS and R&D laboratories.
• Prepare and record documentation for all incoming and outgoing couriers.
• Assist with sampling and provide support to laboratory technicians & manager.
• Handle documentation for incoming and outgoing products and substrates, and hand over to the concerned laboratory personnel.
• Monitor ongoing tests on equipment in the absence of laboratory technicians.
• Conduct stock checks of laboratory supplies, chemicals, substrates, and tools.
• Monitor laboratory safety equipment including fire extinguishers, first aid box, firefighting equipment, and PPEs.
• Document all activities, record results, and manage data entry/retrieval.
• Keen to learn about product technologies and laboratory testing.

Qualifications/Experience

Diploma or Graduation 0-2 years of work experience.
