Job summary

EdAssist in India seeks a dedicated Pre-Primary teacher to nurture young learners through play-based, experiential activities. You will plan age-appropriate lessons, foster a safe and inclusive classroom, and use stories, music and art to support holistic development.

Ideal candidates possess a qualification in ECCE/NTT/D.El.Ed and a passion for early education. Freshers with the right credential are welcome; collaboration with staff and active parent engagement are expected.

Qualifications

  • Graduate with NTT / ECCE / D.El.Ed or equivalent in Early Childhood / Pre-Primary Education.
  • Experience in Early Years / Pre-Primary teaching preferred; freshers considered.
  • Ability to plan engaging activities and assess young learners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging and activity-based learning experiences aligned with the School curriculum.
  • Create a positive, safe, inclusive and child-friendly classroom environment.
  • Use stories, rhymes, music, art, movement, games and hands-on activities to promote learning.
  • Monitor students' development through regular observation and records.
  • Maintain lesson plans, attendance, portfolios and assessment records.
  • Follow safeguarding, health, safety and student-dispersal procedures.
  • Communicate with parents and participate in parent‑teacher meetings and school events.
  • Collaborate with coordinators, teachers and support staff for Pre-Primary functioning.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability with feedback and changes.

Job description

Job Purpose

To provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating learning environment for young learners and facilitate their holistic development through age-appropriate, play-based, experiential and child-centred learning practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging and activity-based learning experiences aligned with the School curriculum.
  • Create a positive, safe, inclusive and child-friendly classroom environment.
  • Use stories, rhymes, music, art, movement, games and hands‑on activities to promote learning and development.
  • Monitor students' academic, social, emotional, language and physical development through regular observation.
  • Maintain lesson plans, attendance, student portfolios, assessment records and other academic documentation within prescribed timelines.
  • Apply positive classroom-management strategies and ensure that children are never left unattended .
  • Follow all child-safeguarding, health, safety, emergency and student‑dispersal procedures.
  • Maintain professional and respectful communication with parents and address concerns through the prescribed channels.
  • Participate actively in parent‑teacher meetings, assemblies, celebrations, workshops, field trips and other School activities.
  • Collaborate with Coordinators, teachers and support staff to ensure effective functioning of the Pre‑Primary section.
  • Participate in professional‑development programmes and implement learnings in classroom practice.
  • Demonstrate ownership, punctuality, discipline, professional maturity, adaptability and a positive attitude towards feedback and organisational changes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding students, parents, School records and internal communications.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the School in connection with academic and institutional requirements.

Qualification & Experience

Preferred Qualification: Graduate with NTT / ECCE / D.El.Ed . or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood / Pre‑Primary Education. Experience: Relevant experience in Early Years / Pre‑Primary teaching in a reputed school will be preferred. Freshers with the appropriate qualification and demonstrated competency may also be considered.
