Job summary

Unidesign in Gujarat seeks a Lean & Kaizen Specialist to drive continuous improvement across jewellery manufacturing from casting to finishing. You will lead waste reduction, improve productivity, and raise yields with data-driven methods.

Apply 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, and Root Cause Analysis; train shop-floor teams; prepare improvement reports; and collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and planning to deliver measurable gains in cycle time and quality.

Qualifications

• Experience in jewellery manufacturing or precision manufacturing.
• Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma certification preferred.
• Hands-on 5S implementation and waste reduction.
• Familiarity with precious metal handling and yield management.
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel or ERP).
• Detail-oriented with cross-functional influence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and implement Kaizen initiatives across jewellery manufacturing processes (casting, moulding, stone setting, polishing, plating, assembly).
• Analyze production workflows and identify waste to recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct time and motion studies to improve productivity and reduce cycle time.
• Apply Lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, Root Cause Analysis, and Standard Work.
• Reduce gold and precious metal wastage through process optimization and improved yield.
• Develop and monitor KPIs related to production efficiency, rejection rate, and turnaround time.
• Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and employee engagement programs.
• Collaborate with production, quality control, maintenance, and planning teams.

Role & responsibilities:

• Lead and implement Kaizen (continuous improvement) initiatives across jewellery manufacturing processes
  
• Analyze production workflows including casting, moulding, stone setting, polishing, plating, and assembly
  
• Identify waste (time, material, motion, defects) and recommend corrective actions
  
• Conduct time and motion studies to improve productivity and reduce cycle time
  
• Implement Lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Poka-Yoke, Root Cause Analysis, and Standard Work
  
• Reduce gold and precious metal wastage through process optimization
  
• Improve yield, minimize rework, and enhance product quality
  
• Develop and monitor KPIs related to production efficiency, rejection rate, and turnaround time
  
• Facilitate continuous improvement workshops and employee engagement programs

• Collaborate with production, quality control, maintenance, and planning teams
  
• Prepare improvement reports and present results to management
  
• Train shop-floor employees on Lean practices and process improvements

Preferred candidate profile:

• Experience in jewellery manufacturing or precision manufacturing industry
  
• Certification in Lean, Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred), or Kaizen
  
• Hands-on experience with 5S implementation and waste reduction projects
  
• Familiarity with precious metal handling and production yield management
  
• Strong data analysis skills (Excel or ERP systems)
