Job summary

Apple Inc. IS&T is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to contribute to design, analysis and certification of our applications. You will work closely with Software Engineers, PMs, Product Designers, and partners to test features and ensure quality across web, API, and iOS/iPadOS native apps.

You will create test cases and execute exploratory, functional, end-to-end, regression, and integration tests, performing root-cause analysis and driving quality improvements with GenAI-assisted automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-2 years of software quality engineering experience.
• Experience with Playwright, Selenium, Appium.
• Experience in testing Web, API, iOS/iPadOS native applications.
• Create test cases, test plans, and strategy from requirements.

Responsibilities

• Test features with multi-functional teams to ensure quality across the SDLC.
• Perform exploratory, functional, end-to-end, regression, and integration testing as required.
• Drive root-cause analysis to resolve defects and improve product quality.

Apple’s IS&T team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to contribute to design, analysis and certification of our applications. We are looking for someone who is equally passionate about quality and using lightweight processes to consistently achieve it. The role would also involve interacting with multi-functional engineering and product teams to test features, perform root cause analysis, and drive the quality of customer's experience.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 1-2 years experience in software quality engineering.
• Experience with modern test automation frameworks such as Playwright/Selenium, Appium.
• Experience in testing Web, API, iOS/iPad OS native applications
• Create test cases/test plans/strategy based on product requirements, user journeys, and technical designs.
• Execute exploratory, functional, end-to-end, regression, and integration testing as required.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QE engineers to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Good understanding of software testing principles, test design techniques, and automation practices.
• Experience using GenAI tools for quality engineering tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Investigate test failures and product defects, perform root-cause analysis, and work with developers to resolve issues.
• Identify repetitive testing activities that can be improved through AI-assisted automation.
• Experience using GenAI tools such as ClaudeCode, GeminiCLI to improve software testing productivity.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with developers and product teams.
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to solve quality engineering challenges.
