VIT invites applications for Junior Research Fellow on a DRDO funded project in the School of Mechanical Engineering, Vellore.

The project studies, characterization and optimization of welding parameters for Monel 400/Monel 500 joining, under ISRO and institute norms. Eligibility includes M.Tech/M.E or B.Tech/B.E in related fields with two years’ experience; gate qualification preferred. Duration is 1 year.

Applications are invited for the post of Junior Research Fellow for the DRDO Funded Projectinthe School of Mechanical Engineering (Project ID: No. DS 2B-13012(2)/37/2025-Sec.2 Date July 22, 2025), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT).

Title of the Project

Studies, Characterization and generation of optimized welding parameters for similar and dissimilar joining Monel 400 and Monel 500

Qualification

M. Tech / M.E, B.Tech / B.E in Metallurgical Engineering /Mechanical Engineering/ Production Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering/Welding Engineering / CAD/CAM or a related field with two years’ experience

Desirable (if any)

• Preference will be given for the gate qualified candidate.
• Candidates have Strong skills in the area of materials characterization.

Stipend

Rs. 37,000/ + 10 %HRA - per month for the Gate Qualified Candidate.

Others will be paid as per the institute norms.
