Job summary

Without in Pune, India is seeking an Industrial Design Intern who will contribute to design exploration and prototyping on the shop floor. You will work closely with engineers and product teams to translate concepts into tangible models using SolidWorks, Fusion, and other tools.

Role emphasizes hands-on learning, AI-assisted ideation, and a fast-paced startup culture. Expect a 3-month incubation period with ESOPs and health benefits while based in Pune.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design.
• Proactive mindset: you take ownership, spot problems, and solve them.
• Strong understanding of the core design process and user-centred thinking.
• Proficiency in 3D design software and rendering tools listed above.
• AI-tool fluency to speed up research, ideation, and design iteration.

Responsibilities

• Research and documentation for new and existing design initiatives.
• Explore novel product options with a focus on function and sustainability.
• AI-Augmented ideation to rapidly iterate on early-stage concepts.
• 3D modelling and prototyping; prepare files for rapid prototyping.
• Create renders and visuals for internal review and evaluation.
• Hands-on prototyping on the shop floor; assist with assembly and testing.
• Support manufacturing runs and team coordination.
• Work in a fast-paced startup environment and embrace all tasks.

Requirements

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design.
  
• Proactive mindset:You don't wait to be told what to do — you take ownership, spot problems, and solve them.
  
• Strong understanding of the core design process, user-centred thinking, and practical problem-solving.
  
• Proficiency in standard 3D design software (SolidWorks, Fusion, Creo, Rhino), rendering tools (KeyShot or Blender), and graphic software (Photoshop/Illustrator).
  
• AI-tool fluency:Comfortable leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, visual generation, automation workflows) to speed up research, ideation, and design iteration.
  
• Basic understanding of design documentation and rapid prototyping.
  
• Aligned with Without (by Ashaya)'s vision, mission, guiding principles, and embodies our values.
  
• Relentless work ethic, high resilience, and a drive to build fast in an uncertain environment.
  
• Flexible attitude — ready to roll up your sleeves for everything from 3D modelling to hands-on assembly, post-processing, and shop floor tasks.
  
• Willing to be based in Pune, India, and commute daily to Bhosari, MIDC. This is anin-personrole.
  
• Available to start immediately or at the earliest.
  

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Research & Documentation— Assist in research for new and existing design initiatives, maintaining clear, structured documentation throughout.
  
• Product Exploration— Explore novel product options with a focus on functional design, sustainability, and innovation.
  
• AI-Augmented Ideation— Leverage AI tools alongside traditional workflows to rapidly iterate on early-stage concepts and ideas.
  
• 3D Modelling & Prototyping— Build 3D models, refine geometries, and generate files for rapid prototyping (3D printing).
  
• Renders & Visuals— Create realistic renders and visuals for internal review and technical evaluation.
  
• Hands-On Prototyping— Get on the shop floor. Support 3D printing, post-processing, assembly, and physical testing.
  
• Manufacturing Support— Support overall manufacturing runs and team coordination.
  
• Everything Else— Work closely with the core team in a fast-paced startup environment — embracing every task, big or small, to keep projects moving forward.
  
• An annual Cost-to-Company (CTC) betweenINR 5-6 lakhs.
  
• Stock Options (ESOPS) in the legal entity that vests over an agreed-to tenure.
  
• A 3-month mutual incubation period. Both you and we will have the option to end the agreement after three months if it isn’t working out.
