Job summary

SRM Technologies in Chennai seeks a skilled BI Developer to design, build, and maintain Power BI solutions aligned with business goals. You will translate requirements into robust data models, implement security, and ensure data quality across sources.

Join a team that collaborates with engineers and analysts to deliver self-service BI via Power BI Service and Power Automate workflows. Requires 2+ years in Power BI with strong DAX and data transformation skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS/IS/Engineering/Statistics or related field.
• 2+ years of experience building reports and dashboards using Power BI.
• Strong proficiency in DAX for calculated measures.
• Solid experience with Power Query for data transformation.
• Good understanding of relational databases, SQL querying, and data modeling (facts, dimensions, star schema).
• Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance concepts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work with business stakeholders and translate requirements into designs.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI reports, paginated reports, and dashboards based on business requirements.
• Gather, analyze, and translate business needs into technical specifications and data models.
• Create calculated columns and measures using DAX.
• Use Power Query to extract, transform, and load data from multiple sources (SQL databases, Excel, cloud sources).
• Implement and manage row-level security (RLS) and governance standards for data access and security.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy through validation, testing, and documentation.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business users to align BI solutions with business goals.
• Publish and manage content in Power BI Service, including workspaces, apps, dataflows, and refresh schedules.
• Provide support and best-practice guidance to self-service Power BI users.
• Create flows/schedules in Power Automate
